... but the Panel knew full well that these gaps could only be filled by new science, and there wasn’t time for that - and TTR hadn't done the mahi. Eg, in its 2014 consent refusal the EPA told TTR to go away and maybe carry out some marine mammal surveys. It still hasn't. Nor seabird. Big gaps.

What’s actually “embarrassing” is NZ pimping vanadium as a critical mineral to the US when TTR’s been clear it wouldn’t be extracting the vanadium (it actually can’t do it whoops), wld sell it to China to strengthen steel. This industry spin is pure greenwash. #nzpol www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

They have to give Trans Tasman Resources time to comment/ suggest conditions by February 19/20 then will publish final decision after that. But it's a comprehensive decision, well-argued, backed by a heap of evidence, and we consider it's very unlikely to be reversed.

The reason the TTR process is going to take so long is because of the massive gaps in its evidence, the lack of scientific detail and mahi, and our experts have pointed this out. The fast-track Panel tried to get the company to identify these gaps but it pretty much refused to cooperate.
