Cat experts: Cats don't want to eat or drink out of bowls that are too narrow, because it bothers their whiskers. My cat:

Many incredibly awful things going on on the world. But also, blep.

I think it’s fair to say that the whale watching portion of our Moby-Dick themed trip to New England was a success.

Dinner tonight: Red-braised branzino, and some stir fried choy sum. The fish recipe is from Fuschia Dunlop’s Revolutionary Chinese Cookbook.

Home for Thanksgiving, and it seems that our niece Lila is hot on the heels of @elizhargrave.bsky.social , with her Sea-Shell Game! I’m cooking in nearby, but I’m hearing from the players that this is a pretty cut-throat game.

Believe it or not, Kizzy and Kazh were being even MORE adorable than this when I grabbed my phone to take a picture.

Repost with a polite pet. This is Kizzy, who, as you can tell from this photo of him wearing a toupee, is quite easy going. He is very fluffy, enjoys endless snuggles and belly rubs, and never causes any trouble. Almost never.

From a Washington Post article on dating after 50. I’m not sure it is wise to date someone whose “hard-won lessons about how not to behave in a relationship” came from being widowed. wapo.st/3ETK7Fe
Screenshot from an article reading:
There's no pressure to procreate or find the perfect future parent. Many people in the pool are divorced or widowed, bringing with them hard-won lessons about how not to behave in a relationship. And older daters tend to know what they want — and understand the dealbreakers — allowing them to be more selective.

Hmm, tell me more about how much “attention has been…”
Image from a restaurant website with text that reads “Welcome to our Restaurant!
We pick ingredients carefully and use only the freshest and natural ones to prepare every dish, and have been trying to cook them in a healthier way to provide the most nutritious food.Much attention has been...” (it trails off with an ellipsis, exactly like the image.)

I’d probably be better off if I didn’t start at yet another social media platform, but while I’m here, enjoy these photos of my cats experimenting with toupees. (Coincidentally, this was the same day I got a haircut.) Are hashtags a thing here? #cats #CatsWithToupees
