iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I care about you, alright? You can always vent when you feel bad, or chat me up when you feel good. Mental health is hard to struggle with and you don’t have to do it alone.

Hey. If you ever need to talk my DMs are open, okay? Zero judgment, just letting you know the option is there

It’s not sexy work but it still needs to be done

Karli! @karlicartoons.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

This is why production workers and layout workers (assuming those still exist) are so undervalued! But you know what, if those ditches are dug exactly right, the whole thing works. And if they aren’t…

I haven’t bad a website for all of this year bc it’s just too expensive. You get the YouTube link to my demo reel and my resume and that’s it lmao

Karli! @karlicartoons.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Yes, simple is better, just make sure the font is big enough for old eyes

010

Karli! @karlicartoons.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

LMAO I’d have thought the same thing. It’s not “professional” in the classical sense of the word but it’s functional and secure, therefore smart

Hi don’t follow me because of this post, I don’t like interacting with animation fans and I’m a yaoi drawing communist. I don’t care about animation news, fuck Hollywood, and seeing a movie in theaters is not activism

I always like to give students the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a professor who told them that since it was two diff portfolios formatted the same way

010

Karli! @karlicartoons.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Google Drive is also nice cuz you can protect your NDA reel too since it’s a personalized link, instead of, say, a website that’s easy to hack past the password protected area (looking at you Wix and Squarespace)

Their work wasn't brushed off, I still gave it a look since I like to be fair to those who submit but reaching out to them is an awesome idea, ty

STUDENT ANIMATORS: Please do not send a fucking Canva slideshow as your portfolio. Whatever fuckass professor told you to do this is giving bad advice. A YouTube link or hell even a link to a Google Drive video is better than navigating this

God I love how this one turned out, it’s so tender and sweet I love them just having little moments cuddling

God you’d be so surprised how many people deny their homosexuality but that won’t stop us from preaching the TRUTH

If you time traveled back to when I was 20 and told me I’d end up drawing Beavis and Butthead as the lovers from Pompeii for an October daily drawing prompt I would have probably jumped off a cliff

Beavis and Butthead cuddling in a sheet, posed exactly like The Lovers in Pompeii were before Mt Vesuvius fossilized them all. It’s a very sweet and tender moment between the two of them

I feel like we don’t talk about millennials in particular, hitting our 40s - in earlier generations many of us would be reaching the peak of our careers, but because of disaster after disaster, locust after locust eating our industries, many of us are on our 3rd or 4th fresh start.

Hey y’all, I have a friend who’s looking to get connected in the indy space. He wants to be a voice actor, so I recommended a bunch of indy studios for him to start following :] but I want y’all’s suggestions too!!

I thought it only applied to Burbank since the Burbank mayor is the one taking initiative? Lots of animation studios are in LA county as a whole

My heart aches so much and I’m literally tearing up. I want to have hope. I really do. But my career died almost four years ago now and I’m afraid that getting my hopes up about this will just break my heart all over again. It’s a step in the right direction but I fear it may be too little too late
