Your 3rd dose today of Anthropic settlement madness (at least from me). Authors, CHECK YOUR CLAIMS! Your situation may have changed, per this email from the settlement administrator that some authors are receiving (subject heading: Anthropic Copyright Settlement: Allocation Updates)
We made updates that may affect your claim.
What Changed?
Wed, Sep 30,
2026 at 5:35 AM
Based on feedback from claimants, we updated how certain works are categorized.
In particular, where multiple claimants submitted default claims for the same
ownership interest in a work, we changed those works from agreement to
disagreement.
In addition, the portal is updated to reflect that some claimants changed their sole
ownership claims to default claims, and some claimants withdrew their claims.
What This Means for You
As a result of these updates, some works on your claim may now be categorized
differently. We encourage you to review the current allocations for your works.
How to Review and Update Your Allocations
Please use your claim number and PIN above to log into the portal below.
Claim Summary and Allocation Portal
For help making updates, please visit the allocation portal instructions.
If You Already Submitted Updates
If you already updated the allocation for a work, then you do not need to
submit those updates again. Any changes you submitted previously
through the online portal are recorded, but the portal is not being
updated in real time. If you submit multiple updates for the same
copyright number, your most recent submission will replace any earlier
submissionsWhat’s Next?
We will continue to work with claimants to help resolve disputes.
For works where all rightsholders are in agreement and where all necessary
payment information is provided, we expect to send a first round of payments in
November 2026.
If You Have Questions
Please contact us at 1-877-206-2314 or info@AnthropicCopyrightSettlement.com.

Settlement Administrator

THE BLURB:
Book blurb:

All his life Tomaz Morgate of Hundredhills has dreamed of swashbuckling adventure. However, as guardian to his three younger brothers and sister, and burdened with the responsibility of managing his family estate, Tomaz’s dreams are out of reach. Overlooked by society due to his disability, and nursing a wound from a past relationship, Tomaz has gained a reputation for caustic aloofness. But when the conniving politics of the ruling United Corporae threaten to steal Hundredhills from under him, Tomaz must find a powerful husband—and fast—to secure his position.

When Lord Ayrta Havilland re-enters society to much fanfare, after his commission as a general in the Royal Army, Tomaz takes an immediate dislike to the self-assured military hero. Do the machinations of the court turn them into unexpected allies or confirmed enemies? Tomaz must reckon with his pride, his past, and his sense of duty, or else run the risk of losing his family home—and the unexpected affection he discovers with Lord Havilland.

Perhaps the greatest adventure of all is in the journey of the heart.

I’ve def eyed those books but didn’t want to be unconsciously influenced so haven’t read them yet! I wanted a secondary world where being queer wasn’t a stressor so my world is run by Sister Kings (one is male), fluid gender isn’t remarked upon, and colonialism to create the gentry is addressed. ☺️
010
🐈‍⬛ @karinlow.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
I’ve definitely heard of the books and seen them! I didn’t want to venture into magic or mystery (though I love those subgenres obvs) as my passion for G&G was to basically write Jane Austen or EM Forster (Maurice was huge for me in uni) but in a world where queerness isn’t persecuted.

🐈‍⬛ @karinlow.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
Any hype would help 🙏🏼 I would even post excerpts if people wanted. I haven’t seen anything on the market like it but my inspiration was basically Jane Austen & The Gilded Age - but make it queer. No dragons, magic or murder mystery. But lots of family, fabulousness & friction.

My protagonist puts his family first so maybe! And the family is FUN! I had a blast writing their very different personalities. I haven’t read KJ!

You are on my list for an ARC! I just need some hype around this and for publishers to consider a book that doesn’t sound like what’s currently out there ☺️🙏🏼

Please spread the word! It’s called GUNS & GENTILITY, it’s on sub. 🙏🏼 I wanted to write a mature protag whose own emotional baggage gets in the way more than most things. My inspiration was Jane Austen & The Gilded Age - but make it queer. Lots of family, true friendships, amd fabulous balls. 😁

🐈‍⬛ @karinlow.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
Do you think there’s an audience for a queer Romance of Manners a la Jane Austen, set in a secondary world, where the protags (M/M) are over 35 & family’s just as important as the “couple problems”? Oh, and the colonialism inherent in Regency & Victorian romances is actually addressed. LET ME KNOW 😇

WARCHILD by Karin Lowachee (and, of course, the rest of The Warchild Mosaic). Character-driven science fiction at its very best. Bonus: BEGGARS IN SPAIN by Nancy Kress, pretty much anything I've read by Carol Berg, and I'm 100% with those who already mentioned THE KILLING MOON and MELUSINE.

Guy Ritchie went ahead and made a high octane queer coded action movie (Gyllenhaal and Cavill play a couple without making it The Point) in his signature style and it was buried with zero promotion. I can’t believe that was by accident when his other productions get support. Now it’s on Prime.

Apparently if you use an AppleTV box/similar interface it’ll remove the TV from the network entirely & render it a monitor. But this isn’t just LG, they said basically all smart TVs track your activity & that’s been going on for years (my sister is in computer security & warned us of this years ago)
