LOL - yeah - she was the only one I was sure about. Also, there are a lot of people from that time that look familiar to me because I was at so many events that all the Canadian bands were playing at. They have all blurred together. I saw Kathleen play a few times more recently so easier there!

Picture 1 kind of looks like Dave Bidini on the right. Other guy look familiar too but that was long ago🤷‍♀️ 3 & 4 - I remember Luke Doucet having that shirt but his face is not visible and it is the wrong guitar. Unless it was before the White Falcon. Maybe Mark from Elliott Brood in 5?

When my friend asked if I wanted a road trip to IKEA, of course I said yes & pre-shopped on the website. I wanted a couple of plastic chairs & saw some lovely blue ones. Sat in the display one, found the unassembled in a bin, but detoured into As Is before checkout. Score! Assembled & cheaper

Strider bikes are one of my favourite inventions and the story is covered in Leidy Klotz's book Subtract (a brilliant book). I love that kids of all ages can bike using them and this sort of place is what we need more of in our world. Just don't tell the UCP because they'll try to remove them

That was one strange book, in my opinion. Maybe this stuff is aimed at men who aren't good at making friends? Or maybe men think that friendship is about getting something from one another? I don't know. I just know I won't be reading this book or listening to him on any of the podcasts.

That's how his current book comes off to me: relationships are transactional. "We need three types of people" followed by a list. "You're more likely to get a job through distant friends than close friends" I've read most of his books and this one strikes me to be similar to Give and Take

So true. One of my farmers market vendors grows strawberries. They are expensive but each little berry is worth 5 of those bigger things that have no taste. Worth the money because they are so satisfying
