Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who has seen his net worth skyrocket by nearly $100 billion since the AI boom started a couple of years ago, would really appreciate it if you would stop talking about the potential harms of the technology that’s supercharged his fortune. It’s really harshing his vibe.

Microsoft’s Nadella wants us to stop thinking of AI as ‘slop’

A couple of weeks after Merriam-Webster named “slop” as its word of the year, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella weighed in on what to expect from AI in 2026.

In his classic, intellectual style, Nadella wrote on his personal blog that he wants us to stop thinking of AI as “slop” and start thinking of it as “bicycles for the mind.”

He wrote, “A new concept that evolves ‘bicycles for the mind’ such that we always think of AI as a scaffolding for human potential vs a substitute.”

In good news, your advocacy for science funding is paying off! Congress has just rejected the massive cuts to NASA's 2026 budget. (Sadly, they didn't include a provision for saving @ncar-ucar.bsky.social but we use this win to keep fighting!)

Here's what Congress rejected of the draconian cuts faced by NASA in FY 2026.

Lecture B02 of Statistical Rethinking 2026. Multilevel model expansion: workflow, cluster and feature engineering, non-centered parameterization, dank memes. Continues next week with models of population covariance and (if there is time) group-level confounding and "Mundlak machines".

#Trump lashed out at a female reporter who was doing her job by asking about releasing the #EpsteinFiles. “Quiet!” Trump snapped back. “Quiet piggy!” Put that in the long, long list of ponderings when asking yourself, why would any woman vote for that Pig? www.rawstory.com/trump-267430...
