A bit last minute, but anyone in my feed interested in going to the Chrono Trigger concert in New York on 10/10?

Anime fans have got to be the worst fandom when it comes to having to neatly categorize everything and come up with labels for every subgenre, character type, plot device, etc. All it achieves is making everything seem even more derivative than it actually is.

Finished millsage's initial band story in Our Notes. What a wild rollercoaster ride that was! The final twist was an absolute sucker punch

I knew. Couldn't tell you if it was school or by chance that I learned, though.

More proof of how stupid LLMs really are: Twitter's auto-translate turns: バンドリ！アワーノーツ Ba N Do Ri ! A Uu Noo Tsu Bandori (BanG Dream)! Our Notes to "BanG Dream! Ave Mujica" because it's not doing any actual translation but looking for relevant matches.

And finished season 1. Really liked the last few episodes. The dialogue becomes more focused with less non-sequiturs, and thanks to that Hikiyama's MO is clearer (to the point of being spelled out in ep 12) which makes for a richer character.

Can't help but compare it to the Rascal series due to the similarities between Mai and Yukino, as well as the "problem of the week" episode structure (minus the vague supernatural elements) I'll keep watching until the end of season 1. Not sure if I'll go beyond that, though.

A little over halfway through the first season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU and it's... decent? I feel compelled to keep watching at the very least. Protagonist is exhausting, but in a believable way, but some of the comedic reliefs are too over the top.

"CRYCHIC" from It's MyGO!!!!! and "Te Ustus Amem" from Ave Mujica especially are incredibly beautiful pieces of art.

000

I wish I had a better way to describe it, but it has to be seen to be believed. It is part music anime, part horror-themed exploration of damaged psyches. Yes, it has pacing issues. Yes, Uika's plot twist has some problematic implications. But as far as I'm aware, there's nothing else like it.

100

Revisiting their stories in Our Notes, I realize that BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica are the closest I'd get to considering any anime a "must watch" MyGO elevates a generic music anime plot with masterful storytelling and beautifully flawed characters. And Ave Mujica is a JOURNEY.

Imagine if other emergency calls were treated like a Section 12 "Yes. it's true we don't see any reason to justify an emergency, but someone did call in a noise complaint so we'll have to take you in and confiscate anything that could potentially make a noise."

000

Seems like a no-brainer to you or I, but I sadly feel like this is another symptom of the slow death of common courtesy.

I think at this point it would be easier to list every mildly popular gacha game that HASN'T had a Persona collab.

I feel like that show originally intended on leaning more into the doctor aspect, but I still very much enjoyed what we got.

Is there an official proseka fan theory that the entire story is a St. Elsewhere situation and Saki is imagining the whole thing from her hospital bed?

A little ironic for me to say, but can fandoms please stop discussing what is and isn't 'canon'?

I am not exactly shocked at Wolverine's reviews are less than stellar when their main selling point seemed to be "LOOK AT ALL THE BLOOD!"

Not a thing I've tried before, but I could see me being okay with a mild nut like walnuts. As long as there's still plenty of real estate for the chocolate.

Make chocolate chip cookies with milk chocolate chips if you want, just know that I am judging you harshly.

Word of advice: if your priority is to do things as fast as possible, maybe don't play an MMO. Also learn how downtime is supposed to work.

Food for thought: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has less dungeons than Link's Awakening. (or the same number, if you count the final dungeon) Zelda dungeon lovers really were spoiled by LttP and OoT

I love the game, even if the criticism for trial and error "puzzles" is justified. The sequel, not so much. They retcon some really important stuff to avoid spoilers of the first game, and the obligatory meta twist kinda sucks. (Instead of hiding the truth, the game straight up lies to you)

This happened to us the second night we moved in. Couldn't figure out how to get it turned off, had to call the fire department. Had an electrician friend look at it the next day and it was a wiring issue.

The speed at which I went from "Oh, Our Notes' obligatory CAT cover" to "Oh this is something *special*" Seriously, after hearing so many low effort covers of this for various rhythm games, the effort they put into making this an Ave Mujica cover blows me away. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp6F...

making it incredibly difficult to raise alternate units was a pretty big sin for a job-based tactics game.

000

Coincidentally been thinking about most of these recently, so here are my top 5 most disappointing video game sequels: 1. Awakened Fate Ultimatum 2. Code Vein II 3. AI: The Somnium Files - nirvanA Initiative 4. Jak 2 5. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance A2

So I guess the younger generation really is calling party games "friend slop" now? WTAF

I'm saying don't make the distinction in the first place, because what matters is intention: Good art = created to move others or yourself, or share a meaningful message. Bad art = created with selfish or greedy reasons, or promote an immoral agenda.

100

But that purpose should just be to have a POV on what that art is like when experienced by someone who isn't invested in the success or failure of it. "Is this something to my taste?" Rather than, "is this good or bad?" And I'm not just using this as another "it's okay to like bad art" posts. (2/3)

100

Been trying to fully form a thought all day about how outside of intention, the distinction between "good" art and "bad" art is pointless. Art criticism is so often used to make one individual or group to feel superior to another. Which is gross, because it can serve a purpose (1/3)

100

The good news is in my experience with our own fridge, ice maker problems are USUALLY easy to fix and don't require a replacement. Most often a loose connection or clog or something. Bad news is these days getting a new fridge might still be the cheaper option.

I think social media has gotten people way too comfortable with abbreviating everything. Saw a discussion on Discord where people were abbreviating The Witcher series as TW#. It's the word The and one more word, people. It took me all day to figure out what the heck they were talking about.

Undertale. I can appreciate why others love it, but to me it's mostly okay.

I live in New England where most people find acknowledging others a foreign concept, but grew up in the Midwest where people were far more friendly, so I'm always conflicted.
