I can take one of those not-great party photo booth photos and turn it into a decent profile pic or dating profile pic for you! #photography #pfp #humanart #noai
BEFORE: A group photo in front of a promo wall for some liquor brand, clearly taken at a party or bar photo booth kind of deal with multiple people. My client is the bearded man on the left, handsome and smiling, and he wanted to be isolated from his friends (whose faces are covered with rose graphics for privacy)AFTER: The subject, a handsome young bearded man with a kind smile, isolated for use as a profile pic or dating profile pic.

A photo is of a nesting doll - an egg-shaped object filled with smaller objects of the same shape that all sit inside one another. Each has a different picture of actor Robert Pattinson's face.

A friend likes sharing her nails in her friend group and asked me if I could help elevate her nail photos. No prob! A little crop, rotation, some minor color grading, more focus on the nails! Her photo was good, just needed some TLC. #fashion #fashionphotography #nails #nailart #noai #photography
BEFORE: A hand with painted nails. The photo is okay. It shows the nails and their color which is red and fades to black at the tips. AFTER: A hand with painted nails. The photo is better. It brings the nails closer to the viewer, crops out unnecessary background, and grades the color to give it some warmth and texture.

A photo of a crane or heron, silhouette against an evening monochromatic background. This edit has straightened the horizon, centering the bird, bringing the bird closer to the viewer with a tighter crop, and bringing back the golden hues of the golden hour sunset, showing that the photo was clearly taken in the sunset hours.

The word "after" is below the photo

CPAP but make it sexy

Why does St Thomas the Apostle sleep like this.... And in the weirdest places....
A tuxedo cat lays on his back, jammed up against the wall with his legs spread wide open and his front paws curled into the air. It's a weird place, it's a hard floor, and it's in the corner of a stairwell.

OnlyFans decided to gut punch me today and remind me that six years ago, I still had it all, including my favorite dish in the world. The restaurant is now gone and shuttered, and Dragon Eggs are lost to the annals of Detroit lore. Let's get you back to bed, grandpa.
A small square photo of three "Dragon Eggs" - three spheres of deep-fried chicken stuffed with gorgonzola, covered with extremely hot scotch bonnet pepper sauce, served on a bed of caesar salad with mandarin oranges and shaved parmesan. It was the perfect dish. It was from Union Street restaurant in Detroit, Michigan A much better photo of the Dragon Eggs:

Three spheres of deep-fried, crispy stuffed chicken. The stuffing was gorgonzola cheese. The dish is served on a caesar salad with mandarin orange slices and shaved parmesan. The orbs are covered and fried with the in-house "Rasta Sauce" - scotch bonnet pepper sauce, very spicy. Union Street restaurant in Detroit, Michigan is now gone, a victim of gentrification.

Visiting my daughter and she has a memorial shelf for her brother, and his cologne is here. I made the stupid mistake of opening it and smelling it and of course immediately started crying.
A shelf with a bunch of memorabilia on it. Some LEGO flowers, a red steel urn where my son's ashes are, some photos of him and his siblings, a bottle of cologne, his sunglasses, a photo of his childhood dog, other little knickknacks that hint at a life that was lived and a human that was loved. So loved.

A bit of wisdom from... World of Warcraft.
We fought side by side because the darkness before us was greater than the divisions behind us. Whether that harmony endures is a question for wiser souls than mine, but for a little while, the song was stronger because more voices joined it.

A view of me in a webcam window, with two borders on the left and right filled with dark red roses on a black background. It's very goth and very indicative of my own personal style. I am also lit with soft red light, and have grey hair in my mostly dark beard. I'm wearing a headset and stylish glasses. There are guitars behind me in the background.

This is a sad commentary on how my life has been going these days, but this is the best news I've gotten all year, no joke. This was one of my absolute favorite restaurants, and I was devastated when they closed, in the "what else can they take from me" sense.
"ATTENTION!!! ATTENTION!!! To all my HYGRADE DELI peeps. If you don’t know by now the deli was closed and taken over by receivership at the beginning of the year. Well, BREAKING NEWS, it is going to reopen soon. The young lady who bought Mikes Ham Place Nextdoor 2years ago is purchasing the deli from the receivership. She is a dedicated, hard worker who has kept the Ham Place going strong and has every intention of bringing the deli back to the way it was when I owned it. She has asked me if I would come back, put an apron on and help her get it up and running.BREAKING NEWS!!! BREAKING NEWS!!! I said YES. IM COMING BACK!!! And I’m bringing my ATTITUDE with me!!! Those that know, know.Your favorite waitress of 30 years, Linda Holmes will be back and can’t wait to take care of you all. Cleaned up and fix up is starting, a grand opening in October is a possibility . I will provide updates as I get them. We can’t wait to see you all. STAY TUNED!!!"

A utility pole with the word "camera" spray painted on it with upwards pointing arrows. Higher up the pole a flock camera can be seen but it is pointing in the wrong direction, indicating some violence. On the ground below the pole, the solar panel assembly for the camera can be seen with wires hanging off it, indicating it was violently ripped from the pole.

I had some strong thoughts about Adobe products tonight, and boy did they come out.
I have been there, professionally, for Adobe's ENTIRE product arc, starting with Aldus Pagemaker back in the mid 90s. I've been there through the transition from Aldus -> Adobe, the intro of Pagemaker, the transition to InDesign, the bundling of everything into Creative Suite, the whole entire arc.

I still subscribe to Lightroom, because I need it (though that is rapidly dwindling as I am on the laser-focused hunt to replace it), and that comes bundled with photoshop.

I am, humbly, close to a photoshop expert. I've used it professionally through my entire decade as a graphic designer, as a prepress manager for, a newspaper layout designer, and as a consultant for design shops. I KNOW photoshop, probably better than I know any other singular piece of software.

I launched it two nights ago to make a very fast shitpost meme, something I've always been able to do in under a minute... and I couldn't figure ANYTHING out. It was basically brand-new software that I've never seen before. I couldn't find any of the tools I'm used to (the ones that have been there for 20 years), and everything kept popping up and prompting me to use generative AI to make my visions and dreams come true. It was the most apt, ultimate form of the word "enshittification" I've ever experienced. It was literally unusable to me. I closed it.

At this point, fuck it, since I have to learn something entirely new anyway, it ain't gonna be photoshop.

Fuck adobe forever, for ruining a beautiful thing. They made perfect software for true professionals for two decades, and then decided to eat shit and puke it back up and eat that shit puke, then digest that, shit it out, and tell us we need to eat their shit puke shit. Fuck adobe, fuck them.

Here's the story from the Aug 13th 1986 Detroit Free Press. A fuckin' "Gun Defect" my ass. The "break-in" was my 17 year old cousin and his buddies opening an UNLOCKED door at their high school in the summer, and running around in the halls. That cost him his life.
DETROIT FREE PRESS Wednesday August 13, 1986

Officer Cleared in Shooting

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, citing expert testimony that a defect could have caused a CLinton Township police officer's gun to discharge unexpectedly, on Tuesday dropped charges against him in the shooting death of a teenager.

Expert testimony by a defense witness last week disclosed a defect in Officer James Eckenrode's gun, said Prosecutor Carl Marlinga.

Marlinga said he doubted the defect caused the shooting of Daniel Grabb, 17. It nonetheless made proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt impossible, he said

Marlinga moved for dismissal during Eckenrode's preliminary examination before District 41A Judge William Cannon on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, a misdemeanor carrying a maximum two-year sentence.

Eckenrode has been on paid leave since the July 3 shooting of Grabb, the son of a Sterling Heights police sergeant, after a reported break-in at Clintondale High School.

Officers responding to an alarm at the school found Grabb's 18 year old sister, Laura, who told them her brother and two others were inside, police said. Directed by Laura, police found their car parked north of the school.

When Eckenrode saw Grabb and his friends get in, he drew his gun and approached, investigators said. His Smith & Wesson .357 magnum revolver went off a few feet from the car's closed ... OFFICER CLEARED IN DEATH; GUN DEFECT IS CITED FOR SHOT

GUN, from page 1A

window. Grabb was hit in the head and died the next day.

On July 14, Marlinga said the shooting was accidental, but negligent.

Eckenrode had to have squeezed the trigger or had the gun's hammer cocked, which would have made it prone to discharge with very little trigger pressure--in either case, an act of negligence, said Marlinga.

But a defense witness testified that the hammers on Smith & Wesson model 19 guns have a "ghost notch" or "phantom position" defect that can leave the hammer stuck halfway back, making it liable to discharge with very little trigger pressure or simply after being bumped.

There's a bit more, but it doesn't matter. Cop killed my cousin, got away with it.
