I was served my dish at a pizzeria with the appropriate "buon appetito", and instead of the "grazie" I thought I already had in the chamber, what came out was the most Aldo Raine ass "buOnGioRno" imaginable. Avoiding eye contact with the waitress now as I eat my pizza in shame.

I'm fairly pissed at Past Me for planning such a stressful spring / early summer for Present and Future Me, but at least Present Me had a paper accepted for publication today so that helps a bit! It's also unusually warm for April in Oulu, which is nice but also quite scary.

As a student, I used to work in a science centre which had its own cinema, and learned how to operate this 1970s 8/70mm OmniFilms IMAX projector. A 40min film weighed 40kg, was laid on a vertical spinning plate, and had to be ran through several pins through the projector and anto another plate.

Went to see this documentary today about a Finnish actor's search for information on his granpa, who was an intelligence officer in WW2. More than anything, this turned out to be an exploration of generational trauma. As another grandson of a war veteran, I felt this really unlocked something. Huh.

On yesterday's #CA course, the students presented clips at a data session on turn taking. I just had to point out the *absolute hilarity* of them having to SELECT THE (correct) SPEAKER from the audio settings while connecting their laptops. Just blank stares all round. Forever the cool kid. ✊🙃🤓
