Oklahoma was the only state where the absenteeism rate for Native American students was lower than the state average. For North Dakota, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, South Dakota and Alaska, it was much higher -- 60% for Native students in Alaska, compared to 45% for the state as a whole.
