vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 02/10/2026I would be shocked if Remedy don’t have plans for a Control 3, but that feels like such a weird call considering it took them 7 years to make one sequel and the studio is constantly on the brink of running out of money. 010
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 02/10/2026Control Resonant feels like an interquel of sorts. A story inserted in front of the actual story. Ironically, that is the same issue MCU ran into, where everything comes off as a setup to something that isn’t the thing you bought a ticket to . 110

vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 01/10/2026Fire being sharp instead of Wind is how you can tell this was cooked up in a primitive society. 120
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 01/10/2026I'll go out on a limb and say that there aren't any big reveals or stuff to build on from there. It reaffirms story beats hinted at in Control, but nothing new is added to the mix. I'll say that with the caveat that I haven't scoured the post-game or anything. 010
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 01/10/2026I didn't touch on the writing in the review, so I'll just add that I liked Dylan's narrative. Resonant is weirdly much more introspective than the scope might suggest. It's really a character study (and a well written one imo). But it doesn't expand on the RCU or whatever. 110
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 01/10/2026Finished Control Resonant. I was cautiously optimistic about Resonant, but I don't want to sugar coat it: it's exactly what you'd fear seeing them go (semi) open-world with Control. To me, it's sadly a dud. Game is not bad, but it's not what I want from Remedy. backloggd.com/u/V0KAL/revi...backloggd.comV0KAL's review of Control Resonant | BackloggdThe most succinct way I can describe Resonant is »Control, but more«. My feelings on the first game is that it was a glass half-full kinda game. It gestured at a bigger scope than it could deliver on.... 130
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026You did Chisame so dirty in your initial impression list that it hurt my soul lol 100
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026Aren’t they in basically all the official materials nowadays? Like this was four years ago: 100
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026Okay, you know what nevermind. I’m seeing people complain about having to explore in order to unlock traversal abilities, and that’s imo one of the few cool things the game does. 010
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026I genuinely don’t understand. You wrote that progression is “gated by a side quest but it's one you aren't even told about”. But the game explicitly tells you to find Jesse in order to progress the main story AND it’s marked in your log as “Main Story”. So is the lack of a map marker the issue? 000
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026I’m not sure I understand your issue then? Are you annoyed by a lack of clarity on how to progress or that progression is gated behind exploring the world? 100
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026Kinda crazy lineup considering how many titles must've moved out of GTA's way this year. 020
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026If this wasn't a Remedy game, I'm not sure it would actually generate any discussion at all. Most interesting thing is whether you are disappointed or satisfied. 010
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026Seeing a lot of very definitive takes on Control 2 and idk man I guess I just don't find anything it doe to be particularly noteworthy enough to warrant controversy. Everything is serviceable. If you like it you like it. 120
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026I understand not liking the game gating progression behind exploration, but I think it's a bit unfair to say they aren't upfront about it. It's listed right there as a Main Story objective in your quest log and you get a tutorial pop-up explaining how it works. 100
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026Uh, they are? There’s a quest log for finding all the Faults? They give the location of the first for free iirc and the rest you have to discover for yourself. But the game pretty explicitly prompts you to look for them, along with finding the Resonants 100
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 30/09/2026Not sure if you missed it, but there’s a tutorial pop-up in the beginning that straight-up tells you that those sidequests give you traversal abilities. 100
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 29/09/2026I clearly underestimated my Swedish cousins, who are apparently way better at being pan-scandic than I am. 220
vkalsen @kalsen.dk · 29/09/2026oh this is not just an Portuguese thing My go to example in Danish is Big Trouble in Little China, which was localized as "Who does the Chinese jump for?" And before you ask, no, it doesn't make any more sense in Danish. 100
