the Intl community has effectively done jackshit for decades. Meanwhile, Palestine has been increasingly occupied by illegal settlers. Be serious.

Yeah, the future is either we have a binational democratic state with equal rights for all, or we have a fascist Israeli state that liquadates any meaningful state of Palestine. A One state solution is inevitable either way, and that makes any TSS proponents look farcical.

Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
The dirty truth is that one requires military intervention or force to remove the illegal settlements, but at that point if you have the military force to remove them than why would you allow Israel to continue existing in the state it currently does? The reality is one state solution inevitably.

Isn't it subordinate to parliament because of the Senior Courts act, so in theory the Parliament could remove bad judges? However, if so i don't really get the point of the supreme court either.

Trans rights or else is an effective counter slogan then. Thank you for affirming the strategy.

People are subjective, and they were really fooled that cutting the flow of migrants would somehow improve the country. The only direction from here is naturally to then deport the ones who are already here. And so Labour will head in that direction most likely.

Today, as many of us will sadly be aware, the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026 guidance came into force. This guidance will not keep children safe. I have written to the Minister for Education, telling her that she is fully responsible for the harm this guidance will cause these poor kids.
"Dear Secretary of State,

Today was my daughter’s first day at high school. For her, it was everything a first day of high school should be: excitement, nerves, new teachers, new friends and the beginning of a new chapter. She walked through those school gates expecting to belong there, and came home with the joy of a child who has started something new.

This is how it should be.

But if she was trans this experience would be very different.

Thousands of trans children will have experienced something very different today. As Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026 comes into force, an estimated 3,500 trans children starting secondary school today have instead been left facing the possibility of being outed, segregated or made to feel that their very existence is a problem. While other children were worrying about whether they would make friends or find their classrooms, some trans children were worrying about whether the adults responsible for their safety would expose them, exclude them or treat them as fundamentally different from their peers.

You have done this in the name of safeguarding, but there is nothing safe about making vulnerable children afraid of the very institutions that are supposed to protect them. There is nothing protective about policies that can make a child feel that being honest about who they are could put them at risk. And there is nothing responsible about ignoring the foreseeable consequences because it is politically easier to appease a small but extraordinarily noisy anti-trans movement than to stand up for the children you were elected to serve.

You chose them. You chose their campaigners, their rhetoric and their relentless pressure over the wellbeing of the children affected by your decisions.

You were warned. Parents warned you. Teachers warned you. Children's organisations warned you. Trans people warned you. For years, you have been given every opportunity to stop and consider where this road leads...""There are an estimated 50,000 trans children in our schools...They deserve to walk through their school gates excited about seeing their friends, learning something new and finding their place in the world. Instead, your Government has made thousands of them wonder whether they are welcome in the first place...

When you deliberately create an environment of fear, stigma, forced disclosure and exclusion around a group of already vulnerable young people, you cannot simply shrug your shoulders when those children suffer. When some of them become isolated, when some stop asking adults for help, when some become so overwhelmed by the hostility surrounding them that they lose hope, you cannot claim that nobody could have seen it coming...

And that means you cannot later hide behind the comforting fiction that you were simply following the evidence, or that you had no alternative, or that somebody else was responsible. You are the Government. You have the power to decide what kind of schools our children grow up in, and today you have chosen to make those schools less safe for trans children.

If a trans child is pushed further into despair because of policies your Government knowingly chose to implement, remember this moment. Remember the warnings. Remember the parents who told you what you were doing. Remember that you had the power to protect these children and chose political expediency instead.

Their lives are being put on the line.

And if the worst happens, the responsibility cannot simply be passed around until nobody is accountable. Their blood will be on your hands.

...Every child deserves to feel that way.

Including trans children.

You are the Secretary of State for Education. Your responsibility is not to the loudest campaigners, the easiest headlines or the politics of the moment. It is to the children standing at those school gates.

Protect them. All of them. Before it is too late.'

A lot of my analysis was about how trans rights is by nature, the anti fascist struggle of our time, and the terf genocidal logic inherently unravels a society from top to bottom. It pisses me off that we have no real anti fascist movement that grasps this.

Basically, you can only fix the institutional rot by removing bad actors and putting people in place with good views.

Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
Isn't it the same issue with the judicrary? The inevitable conclusion is to use the law to remove judges who themselves hold views that are contrary to ensuring equality in society, and likewise journalists who stoke racial hatred or transphobia must be removed from the media environment.

Carter G. Woodson's famous 1933 work The Mis-Education of the Negro includes a discussion of these kinds of cases. Medical textbooks of the era reminded students of the higher rates of diseases including STIs in Black populations. True, relevant information. But what effects did it have? 3/

Then proceeded to go on a transphobia arc. It's almost as if once a spineless bastard always a spineless bastard and we should be especially hesitant to give second chances to people whose political careers depend on others ignoring that their past actions may be indicative of future behaviour.

Rather maddening but I feel like you can often tell someone's attitude based on their voting record, here Burnham's voting on the Iraq war and against an inquiry into it was all i needed to know.... People also tried to spin Your Party when 2 of those MPs voted against decriminalizing Abortion

Originalism is far more absurd when the UK's political system is explicitly based in future parliaments not being bounded by previous ones and the judiciary being wholly subordinate to the whims of Parliament.
0130
Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 06/08/2026
The worst bit is that you can overrule all this nonsense on several levels. 1. Parliament is sovereign and can always change the law 2. The Supreme court justices could always be removed and replaced with more amendable ones 3. The UK is still party to the ECHR which bounds the gov through the HRA.

The whole point with that is to bog down in bullying religious people iut of bad ideas. Anti clericalism is more about accepting that people may be religious, but they may not be permitted to use religion and its authority to undermine democratic society and interfere with others' lives.

Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 04/08/2026
Part of what a successful progressive movement needs to go forward is to actually be very sharp and clear how its actions line up with its language. It's why i chose the term amti clericalism because antitheist sceptic atheists tended to have this vague notion of performative debate culture.

Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 04/08/2026
They swallowed hook, line, and sinker the lie that Western civilization is built on supposedly judeo christian values, and islam is the real threat to society. They linked arms with christofascists. They chose to side with clericalism bc their place in patriarchy and hierarchy was challenged.
1271
Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 04/08/2026
It's frustrating because there is a historical term of anticlericalism. Religious authority simply must not have any stakes over social and political life. The term "Reddit Atheist" is a demonisation of that view, and on top of that, the atheist "sceptic movement" abandoned anti clericalism.

Very easy to see this was how it was going to go after they couldn't stick their neck out and correctly call these types of people fascistic and a threat to democracy. Either you go all the way or you shut up about it and look what they chose.

Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 28/07/2026
I said before, Amnesty's first error is being meal-mouthed and not saying that these people are fascists, far-right, authoritarian and must have no respect given to them in an actually democratic society.

i choose to block any centrist so-called leftists for the t-shirt thing for this reason, they don't have real problems, they don't care honestly about real problems if this is what they busy themselves with today, its sea-lioning and the best thing to do is to refuse to engage and block them.

Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 28/07/2026
the lens i have of all this is that none of the people involved are being explicitly genocided by the British state via 1000 slow cuts and so they need to make up a thing to be mad at the left for so they can absolve their soul of how fascistic Britain is. tl;dr they need to get real problems.

if greens made a big stink that labour effectively has and will kill trans people over and over, labour would eventually u-turn the policy because killing and segregating trans kids and people in general is so morally repugnant once explained to the avg person.

bad opinion, the fear of actually declaring people fascists and allowing their views to have legitimacy is the problem, Reform and Badenoch's far right politics should never have been humored in a more sane Britain but centrist liberals decided to pretend that there was any serious debate here.

Kalina Scott @kalinazs.bsky.social · 28/07/2026
because these people don't have real social issues to complain about, they don't actually suffer from fascism in their minds they think they're above it and so need to manufacture controversy.

Institutions exist on the notion of necessary ignorance. If these people were deeply aware of how much labour has driven trans kids to suicide they'd quit their jobs out of principle. They shy away because they, too, have blood on their hands by being passive and ignorant bystanders to violence.
