My word for 2026: Gallantry. I was raised to believe gallantry was important. Noonan's oped in the WSJ-gifted article link below does a good job of summarizing my feelings on gallantry what it is and why it is important. In a world full of reality TV trolls/stars/influencers be a Sullenburger.

pro tip, when invited to someone's house for Christmas Eve dinner, don't show up 1.5 hours early and expect your hosts to be happy to see you. {sigh - extended family}

Ok, hear me out. I think announcing that CBS is cancelling Colbert may have been the smartest thing they could have done. He has TEN Months to say what he wants, gloves off, no filter. And, people are watching. They are talking. Curious to see if he stays fired after, oh, say fall 2026. That said 1/

The event was held on November 11, then designated Armistice Day. Later, U.S. Representative Edward Rees of Kansas proposed a bill that would change Armistice Day to Veterans Day. In 1954, Congress passed the bill that President Eisenhower signed proclaiming November 11 as Veterans Day.

okay, for anyone who refuses to call me by my middle name, I would like them to address me as Mrs. S... Not Miss, not Ms., Mrs. I want it clear that it is my married name. I would also like to see the media to call the honorable Sen Rafael Cruz - (article in next post)

The no. of random people explaining trickle down economics since Nov fascinates me. These are the same people who don't seem to understand that it applies to layoffs. When you have substantial layoffs, the effects ripple, fast. And that doesn't even take into account turning off funding. Ripples
