A big thank you to the editors and producers who gave me work while I was freelancing this spring and summer. And I’m so grateful to my many friends in the biz who offered to help in my pursuit of freelancing gigs and/or the job search. It’s great to be writing and reporting full-time again.

Some personal news as they say: I’ve joined The Canadian Press as a lifestyle reporter. I’m so excited to dig into an area of coverage that intersects with a lot of my interests but of course, I’ll always keep an eye out for sports angles, too.

Gushue is the GOAT and a big reason why I'm a longtime curling fan. Fun story: Brad Gushue was once at a Blue Jays game when I was covering the team. I was fangirling hard in the press box, trying to figure out if I could meet him. The US baseball writers had no idea what I was going on about 😂

Related: When my fiancé and I first started dating - during Season 45 - I admitted I still watched Survivor and asked if he’d like to watch an episode with me. He agreed because he liked it as a kid. Five seasons later we’re engaged and he’s more addicted to rewatching old Survivor seasons than me 😂

Love this graphic. After watching Survivor as a kid/teenager, Season 40, Winners at War, got me back in as an adult. The fact that it coincidentally coincided with the pandemic gave me ample time to catch up on seasons I missed. It’s amazing after all these years, the show is still so great
