Of course, once the surviving members of Husker Du, Minutemen, fIREHOSE, Saint Vitus, Negativland, and others that I’m forgetting regain the rights to their music, then… there’ll be nothing left… …except for Black Flag and whatever else Greg does I guess.

The rise and fall of SST records is something that fascinates me so much. Like, if Greg Ginn wasn’t such a huge prick and asshole, I feel like the label could’ve flourished past the 80s. As is, it’s a barren wasteland that just so happens to have some great music left in its catalog.

Really enjoyed the video. Also saw the update companion video, and I do think scaling back is the best option moving forward for you. I hope you'll be happy with what you make moving forward :)

Honestly, seeing as some thought spending 7 minutes talking about the slow text speed was overkill, you’re probably ok with replaying the game that way. Then again, it’s hard to please everyone. So, do what you think is best.

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I’m actually pretty excited for a hypothetical Mollusk deluxe, but the live stuff has just been pretty underwhelming for me and a lot of other Ween fans. Maybe there’re reasons as to why they’re doing it this way, Idk, but I hope that they’ll understand what people want and deliver accordingly.

And I don’t mean to act that Rhino is not trying, I was ecstatic that their albums were made more accessible physically with the Brown Box. Could it have been better? Yes, but I do appreciate the effort. Additionally, the 12 Golden Country Greats Deluxe was really strong.

Europe “90” was overall better, as it focused on one show, but now with this upcoming new live album, Boognish Rising, from what I’ve seen of it anyways, it’s shaping up to just be another live compilation with very few standout features.

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I feel like when it comes to archiving Ween live stuff, Rhino hasn’t really done the best they could be doing. Bring Out the Foos from earlier this year was neat, but it didn’t really have any standout features from other live albums.

Beach House - Devotion (2008) [relisten] I think this my favorite Beach House album. Weird take, yes, but I just find this to be a very cozy listen. 9/10

I can’t guarantee you’ll find as much fascination with it as I do, but if you’re looking for something different in Western media, then I’d recommend checking out this TV show called Twin Peaks.

Grateful Dead - Live/Dead (1969) [relisten] Getting into Grateful Dead is such a daunting task that I’m not surprised most people don’t even bother. Having said that, this is a really great live album to check out if you just want a taste of their sound. 9/10

If I had to guess, “friend” is reserved for people you are very close to, while “mutual” is reserved for those who you like to talk to but don’t know much about.

Husker Du - Candy Apple Grey (1986) [relisten] Is it weaker than the SST stuff? Yeah, but not by too much honestly. I still really enjoy this one, and the new bells and whistles attached to it are neat. 8/10

Mitski - Bury Me at Makeout Creek (2014) [relisten] Yeah, this is up my alley in many ways. I will admit that there aren't any songs on here that, like, completely wow me, but it's fine. The album's consistent enough for me to look past that grievance. 8/10

I think one of the big reasons I want Kylie Koopa to make another appearance is because more people will get exposed to her as a result, which might result in more fanart of her. I think that would be amazing lol

Meat Puppets - Up on the Sun (1985) [relisten] While there aren’t many highs like there were on II, I still overall enjoyed listening to this one. Feels more laid back. 8/10

Bloc Party - Anatomy of a Brief Romance (2026) Lyrically this is one of the most annoying albums that I’ve ever heard. If it weren’t for that, I’d probably be more lenient with this album, but as is, I just get second degree embarrassment listening to this. 2/10

Bloc Party - Alpha Games (2022) It's like, on the verge of being another 4/10, but honestly, a 4 or 5 would accurately describe my feelings on this one. I am so ready to be done with this discography. 5/10

100

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Bloc Party - Hymns (2016) Those first two tracks really left a horrible taste in my mouth. The rest of the album is... ehh? I'm almost tempted to give this a 5, but man, that beginning was not fun... at all. 4/10

100

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Bloc Party - Four (2012) Sadly, I don't think it's a 4/10, so I can't make the obvious joke here. Maybe it's better than Intimacy? But if so, it's not by terribly much. 5/10

100

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Bloc Party - Intimacy (2008) It starts out really annoying, but as the album progresses, it gets more manageable. Some cool moments here and there, but I'll more than likely not return to this one. 5/10

101

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City (2007) Classic case of the second album being a step down from the first. It's ok I guess, but there are no highs like the debut, and it all just kind of blends in for me. This one is also a bit too long for me. 6/10

100

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Bloc Party - Silent Alarm (2005) [relisten] Yeah, I'm doing it (maybe, Idk lol) "Like Eating Glass" is a really amazing song. If the rest of the album was on that level, then I'd probably enjoy it more. As is, most everything else I think is just pretty good. It's also maybe a bit too long. 7/10

100

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Every time I toy with the idea of binging the whole Bloc Party discography, I remember that I wasn't that gaga over Silent Alarm (i.e. their only great album by the looks of it), and the idea immediately becomes unappealing. Then again, I might just do it anyway to have more negative ratings, so...
