Grateful Dead - Live/Dead (1969) [relisten] Getting into Grateful Dead is such a daunting task that I’m not surprised most people don’t even bother. Having said that, this is a really great live album to check out if you just want a taste of their sound. 9/10

Husker Du - Candy Apple Grey (1986) [relisten] Is it weaker than the SST stuff? Yeah, but not by too much honestly. I still really enjoy this one, and the new bells and whistles attached to it are neat. 8/10

100

Darkthrone - Ravishing Grimness (1999) More Darkthrone. I don't have much else to say really. It's good. 7/10

100

Mitski - Bury Me at Makeout Creek (2014) [relisten] Yeah, this is up my alley in many ways. I will admit that there aren't any songs on here that, like, completely wow me, but it's fine. The album's consistent enough for me to look past that grievance. 8/10

Meat Puppets - Up on the Sun (1985) [relisten] While there aren’t many highs like there were on II, I still overall enjoyed listening to this one. Feels more laid back. 8/10

Bloc Party - Anatomy of a Brief Romance (2026) Lyrically this is one of the most annoying albums that I’ve ever heard. If it weren’t for that, I’d probably be more lenient with this album, but as is, I just get second degree embarrassment listening to this. 2/10

100

Bloc Party - Alpha Games (2022) It's like, on the verge of being another 4/10, but honestly, a 4 or 5 would accurately describe my feelings on this one. I am so ready to be done with this discography. 5/10

100

Bloc Party - Hymns (2016) Those first two tracks really left a horrible taste in my mouth. The rest of the album is... ehh? I'm almost tempted to give this a 5, but man, that beginning was not fun... at all. 4/10

100

Bloc Party - Four (2012) Sadly, I don't think it's a 4/10, so I can't make the obvious joke here. Maybe it's better than Intimacy? But if so, it's not by terribly much. 5/10

100

Bloc Party - Intimacy (2008) It starts out really annoying, but as the album progresses, it gets more manageable. Some cool moments here and there, but I'll more than likely not return to this one. 5/10

101

Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City (2007) Classic case of the second album being a step down from the first. It's ok I guess, but there are no highs like the debut, and it all just kind of blends in for me. This one is also a bit too long for me. 6/10

100

Bloc Party - Silent Alarm (2005) [relisten] Yeah, I'm doing it (maybe, Idk lol) "Like Eating Glass" is a really amazing song. If the rest of the album was on that level, then I'd probably enjoy it more. As is, most everything else I think is just pretty good. It's also maybe a bit too long. 7/10

Lovesliescrushing - Bloweyelashwish (1993) [relisten] Every time I listen to this, I'm not sure if I think it's good or if it's kind of boring. Right now I'm leaning towards the former. 7/10

Should - Feed Like Fishes (1998) [relisten] God bless Numero Group for making this album known to me. It is very beautiful. 8/10

Talk Talk - It's My Life (1984) [relisten] Some weak moments across this album, but honestly, the highs on here rival the best of The Colour of Spring. 8/10

100

Husker Du - Land Speed Record (1982) My review of this album is the second word of the album title lmao 7/10

100

Husker Du - Metal Circus (1983) [relisten] Pretty great EP that shouldn’t be overlooked if you’re going to listen to this band. 8/10

100

Husker Du - Flip Your Wig (1985) [relisten] First half is arguably the best batch of songs that this band has ever made. Second half is good, but not as amazing. 8/10

100

Husker Du - New Day Rising (1985) [relisten] Yeah, I'm kind of in a Husker mood again. They really were just immaculate at writing hooks that'll just get stuck in your head. 9/10

100

Husker Du - Zen Arcade (1984) [relisten] Who knew that a hardcore punk rock opera would work so well. Yes, this is like, the 30th or so time I listened to this album this year. Turn on the news. 10/10

Indian Summer - Giving Birth to Thunder (2019) Pretty bonkers stuff. Not sure why it took me this long to check it out, but hey, better late than never. 8/10

100

The Smashing Pumpkins - Pisces Iscariot (1994) [relisten] Best b-sides compilation ever? Maybe… 9/10

100

Casino Versus Japan - Go Hawaii (2000) [relisten] Do you love Boards of Canada? If so, then… Idk, you might enjoy this lol 7/10

100

Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy (1997) [relisten] Half of this EP is some of Richard’s best work. The other half is… interesting. 8/10

100

Vylet Pony - Can Opener's Notebook: Fish Whisperer (2022) [relisten] Been a good while since I last listened to this one, and wow, this is really something special. Vylet should do more indietronica stuff low-key. 9/10

120

Eagles - Hotel California (1976) [relisten] Some boring songs, but I can't really deny that when it hits, it hits pretty hard. 7/10

100

Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album (1996) [relisten] Crazy how it's been 5 years since I decided to check out Aphex Twin for the first time. This was the album I started with, and honestly, this might be my favorite of his. 10/10

100

Superchunk - Here's to Shutting Up (2001) [relisten] Vocals are definitely an acquired taste, but if you can get over them, then this is a really enjoyable album with a lot of cool sounds. 8/10

100

Vylet Pony - Monarch of Monsters (2024) [relisten] I am still honestly blown away at how incredible this album is. It’s frightening at times, it’s uplifting at times, and overall, I can’t imagine any other album being my favorite of 2024. 10/10

Current Joys - Wild Heart (2013) Very good music that also reminds me of Beach Fossils to some extent. 7/10

100

Mac DeMarco - Guitar (2025) Probably the most chill Mac DeMarco album that I've heard so far. There's not a whole lot going on here, but I think it's still pretty good. 7/10

Mac DeMarco - Salad Days (2014) [relisten] Maybe the best album to chill out and relax to? Definitely get that feeling whenever I decide to spin this. 9/10

100

Aphex Twin - …I Care Because You Do (1995) [relisten] Funny how this was at one point my least favorite Aphex Twin album, and now it’s one of my favorites. 9/10

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Volume II (1994) [relisten] While I’m not necessarily head over heels with this album these days, it’s still a monumental achievement, and many of my favorite Aphex Twin songs are on here. Nothing but respect towards this. 8/10

Meat Puppets - Meat Puppets II (1984) [relisten] Love the first half, second half is good too. Also, this artwork is really pretty. 8/10

Beach House - Teen Dream (2010) [relisten] Not my favorite Beach House, but it does serve as a nice conclusion to their more quaint dream pop sound while also foreshadowing the more ethereal sounding Bloom. 8/10

Mac DeMarco - 2 (2012) [relisten] I think Salad Days is overall better, but I wouldn't be surprised if this one grows on me more on repeat listens. As is, 2 is still pretty great. 8/10

Shaking Hand - s/t (2026) On paper, this should be something that I should love, and while I do like it, I can't help but feel like I'd be better off listening to 2000s Sonic Youth instead. 7/10

Ween - The Mollusk (1997) [relisten] Still one of the most creative albums that I've ever heard, and it's impressive how everything works together so well. 10/10

Kable @kablenstuff.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Damien Rice - O (2002) This is very pretty, especially the guitar picking, which has this strange twinkling sound to it that's hard to explain. 8/10

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run (1975) [relisten] Honestly enjoyed this one a lot more on relisten than I thought I was going to. Lots of great moments across its runtime. 8/10
