Monstober #3: Hundun

Described in numerous Chinese sources as the primordial chaos, the Hundun, who's name means "Muddled Confusion", is a faceless, hexapedal, winged being. His body is colored cinnabar red and shaped like a sack. It has no organs inside,

In some versions it is the useless son of the legendary Yellow Emperor while in others a deity residing on a mountain, what is consistent is that Hundun is part of the Four Perils, a group of dangerous creatures that include also the Qionqi (a winged tiger that can copy human voices), the Taowu (a stubborn beast that looks like a boar with a human face) and the Taotie (a sheep-like, gluttonous being).

Despite being part of this group however, the Hundun seems more interested in singing and dancing, with some even saying that he doesn't simply understand the world of boundaries made by humans, which took a sad turn when it invited the Emperor of the South and the Emperor of the North, treating them kindly.

The two Emperors, as a way to thank the chaotic being, decided that it must have had to esperience the world as humans did, so they drilled seven holes in his face.
This ended up killing Hundun.

Here are shown the Hundun in its passive state, it dancing(?), it being petted before having his face drilled and lastly the plushie version

Monstober #2: Yam Bhaya Akhoot/A Bao A Qu

First described in the Book of Imaginary Beings, by writers Jorge Luis Borges and Margarita Guerrero under the wrong name of A Bao A Qu, the Yam Bhaya Akhoot is an amorphous being that lives at the bottom of the stairway of the Tower of Victory in Chittorgarh, in India.

Normally it stays invisible and asleep, but when it senses someone climbing the stairs, the Yam Bhaya Akhoot wakes up and follows them, its skin glowing in an ethereal blue light and being akin to the skin of a peach at the touch.

If the person who reaches the top of the Tower is pure and self-realized they will reach Nirvana, with the Yam Bhaya Akhoot as their guide. However, this only happened once, most of the time the people aren't ready yet, so the Yam Bhaya Akhoot just sighs and tumbles down to its usual sleeping spot, waiting for the next visitor.

As said above, the Yam Bhaya Akhoot was known as the A Bao A Qu, due to the name given in the Book of Imaginary Beings, a possible corruption of its original one.
Thought to also have been a made-up creature, akin to the Peryton (a deer-bird hybrid from Atlantis that casts a human shadow), it was discrovered to have been an existing legend of Malaysia

Illustrated here is how i imagine the Yam Bhaya Akhoot, below it how i think it looks after tumbling down who-knows-how-many-stairs after the nth failure and another one showing it helping the one person it achieved Nirvana at the top of the Tower.

Lastly, plushie version because i decided to draw plushie versions of all the creatures i'll draw this month lol

First drawing of the challenge! Here's the Manananggal from Philippine folklore!

Monstober #1: Manananggal

The Manananggal (lit. Remover) is a vampire-like mythical being from the Philippines, during the day is disguided has a normal woman, but as night falls she shows her true form by splitting the upper part of her body from the lower one, before starting her hunt, soaring in the night sky with bat-like wings.
The Manananggal preys on pregnant women, using her proboscis-like tongue to extract their blood or even their fetuses.
Thankfully the Manananggal can be killed, by locating the detached lower part of her body and burning it.
Unable to return whole, the Manananggal will die as the light of dawn starts to shine.

The drawing shows the Manananggal, first looking for a prey, her long, disgusting tongue moving as she hungers, her insides and a piece of her spine showing.

Right below, the Manananggal plunging from the to an unseen prey, her hair going in all directions and her insides dangling against the wind, all the while she prepares her tongue to suck the blood (or the fetus) of the poor victim(s)!

At the bottom, a cute plushie made to resemble the Manananggal, drawn because i had some space left and didn't know what to put lol

CW: Female Sumo Did you all know that the never aired Gozyuger episode was not only a Sumino focused, but also one where she and Ribbon went against eachother in a Sumo N°1 Battle? Now you know!

Sumino Ichikawa/Gozyu Unicorn and Bouquet from N°1 Sentai Gozyuger are facing eachother in a "Sumo No.1 Battle", and for this reason they both gain weight and also have their outfits turned into sumo-versions of them. Bouquet is embarassed by this, as she doesn't want her beloved Rikuo to see her fat and almost naked, while Sumino seems oddly happy about her new weight.
Also, Fire Candle is there because he is cool.

New look for an old gal, her name is Marianne

Concept sketch of my OC Marianne or just "Mari" for short.
She's a tall and lanky girl, with a nervous expression on her bandage-covered face.
Around her there are various notes, in order:
-"Antennas" shaped like an "M", like her hair
-Pupils look like "X"s. Drawn very shaky due to stress. She also has bags under her eyes
-If she relaxed the eyes would look like this (Dont know if it will happen lol)
-Likes baggy clothes, help cover the body
-Gloves (gifts from #####)
-Tattered clothes with patches (made by #####)
-Trident (Work Weapon)
-Boots. Soles are reinforced to crush things easier by stepping on them. Also help walking on slippery floors.

There are also two smaller illustrations:
The first one showing her taking the "bandages" from a Dummy (mummy-like monsters, basically the mooks). The caption above reads "Scavenging Dummies for the bandages"

The second one shows her crouched while looking at cockroaches on the ground, saying "Uwaaa! 'roaches!"

Planning to redesign an OC of mine. Her name is Piercer and she's based on a Candy striped leafhopper

Redesign sketch of my OC Piercer. Her "headpiece" is made to resemble a bullet but also a candy-striped leafhopper (Graphocephala coccinea) a species of insect that is known for being a vector of the plant-killing Pierce disease. Her "hair" is supposed to look like long candies like Twizzlers and end in spikes that she can shoot, said spikes regrow at rapid speed like a sharks theeth. Her main color is orange, with blue and red for her eyes and some yellow for the spikes. The grey parts are colored this way because i don't know what color to use lol.
