Saw R2 for the first time and take it for a spin yesterday while my R1 was in for service. Rivian knocked this out of the park in packaging and design, and I was amazed how incredibly well it drove on a twisty road! Cheers to the whole team at @rivianofficial.bsky.social

It's time to go back to removable batteries in laptops and phones. We can easily spare the few extra millimeters and grams. Add a USB-C port to easily charge them when removed and double as a power bank. Quick swap when needed. And big laptops could be check-in luggage.

One hopes images like this, when paired with the knowledge that everything we burn ends up in that tiny slice of gasses, would help contextualize why we need to move away from energy sources we set on fire. One hopes. Climate communicators should make some hay of this.

We lost one of the true icons in the computing industry (pun intended). Bill made some of the most basic UI concepts functional and snappy. And HyperCard was by far the best way to create things on the computer, possibly my favorite app of childhood.
