Federal and State Water Acts state that the environment must come first, however bureaucratic mismanagement is not doing it any favours. #CEWH #ICAC #TOORALE

No mention of non existent base flows, lack of connectivity or gross upstream over extraction. Nothing to see here. 🤯 #MDBA Basin evaluation.

So 44% of expected native fish species in the Macquarie-Wambuul River have not been seen in the last five years. Of the other 56%, potentially some have only been seen once in the last five years in the Macquarie Wambuul River. 🤯 #MDBA

“The stupidity of half measures and polite incrementalism is increasingly hard to bear. Decades of wilful ignorance has led to weak climate policy that currently gives the world a 90% chance of warming between 2.3-4.5°C by 2100, with a best estimate of 3.6°C.” @thesaturdaypaper.com.au

The fed govt have decided in their infinite wisdom that the gas pipeline facilitating the Narrabri Gas Project will not impact the environment or biodiversity along its 833km path. Nor will Hunter Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd have to mitigate for any possible impacts. This is also a complete joke #DCCEEW

Murray Watt knew the World Heritage bid would be under threat days before his approval of Woodside’s NW Shelf gas plant. It’s laughable that he is the Enviro minister considering he’ll be lining up the Browse gas field next. Credit Mike Seccombe ⁦@thesaturdaypaper.com.au #auspol

“Financial giant Macquarie Group says there will be no reduction in productive capacity at Australia's biggest cotton farm, despite the sale of irrigation water rights worth $73.5 million to the federal government.”

In this week’s Land newspaper- This epitomises the commoditisation of water to the detriment of our river systems, and successive governments are complicit to their demise. QLD will favour exporting water rather than producing food. @tanyaplibersekmp.bsky.social - or buybacks! Show me the money.😡

We had a go, Parkes had one of the largest swings against the National Party at 5.2% however it is one of those rusted on National Party seats with little competition.

A great on point article in last week’s @thesaturdaypaper.com.au well worth reading. Credit to David Ritter of #Greenpeace “Trying to bully nature beyond the limits of resilience has far-reaching and deadly consequences.”

Fabulous to see the LNP’s Anderson & Abbott gush about their own little mining magnate and continue to make such astute electoral choices. 🤣
