She kept calling me "the little one" (I was two heads taller than her), petting my arm. She was a shadow of the woman who used to play with me, rode sleighs with me & showed me how to peel potatoes, how to sew and crochet. But she loved me and it was so obvious. Hug your loved ones, people. 3/3

I said it's ok bc it's more important to be there for people while they're alive. And for me, I had said good bye months before at the old people's home. She had dementia, I was shit scared she'd not recognise me. She didn't remember my name, but it was obvious she knew who I was. 2/3

CW grief, death Any time I see a video with cute elderly people, I'm reminded of my granny. She raised me alongside my parents, literally putting in so much work, teaching me so many things I know today. She died during the pandemic (not from the virus) and I wasn't allowed at her funeral. 1/3

Recently made the first lino print in years only to find out the lino print colour I have had dried up so I blame part of how wonky part of this is on the fact that I had to try and resurrect my colour but it's still partly too liquid and partly grizzly.

I occasionally bind proper books but I'm not very good at it. However I like to make these open backed notebooks because they make good birthday presents for people

Bunch of open backed notebooks with different styles. Some have a Victorian touch, for some I used paper with cherry blossoms and koi fish. They are hand stitched with thread that fits the colours that I chose for the binding

Let me start another endless thread to randomly showcase some stuff I make. Here's a lacey raglan shirt I'm currently working on. Pattern by me.

Knitted raglan from the top shirt in a berry colour. It has a lace pattern. So far, the piece is about 10cm long which isn't even at sleeve height yet, but it's slow going because it's a quite intricate pattern and very thin needles.

Knitting pattern for the lace written in table style by hand. You can clearly see I first made some mistakes and had to adjust it on the go but now it's workable.

I shop for groceries on my way home from work bc there's a supermarket in the train station and it means I don't have to do an extra trip to the supermarket later. I feel that actually helps, making grocery shopping an in between thing and not an extra item on the to do list.

This whole thread made me very happy that between Hercules and Totoro I chose Totoro when I recently went to London (Totoro btw is a very sweet, well made adaptation that is full of love for the original in all aspects).

Don't get me wrong, MTL has it's perks (I use it to double check the messages I sent to my Korean friend & It's also really cool when it helps two people with no common language to directly communicate) but books and stories are not where it should be applied. (My opinion, won't be swayed) 2/2

24/69 I rarely read thrillers but when I do I'm usually invested. Was I invested in this? Yes. It was captivating. But I didn't really like the protagonist and I also felt like the ending wasn't satisfying. Still, it was a good read.

23/69 another one from the "literary fiction" realm. It was okay. I struggled with this mainly because I didn't quite know when it's taking place. If the year is mentioned, it was so brief I didn't notice. And I'm pretty sure it's not set in the 2020s so that info would have been helpful.
