#Inktober Day 4!! With the new #MtGLorwyn set coming soon I decided to take today as an opportunity to do a spin on the iconic Murkfiend Liege. I've never tried to do stippling before either so this was fun.

Inktober Day 4: "Murky" Ink drawing recreation of the Murkfiend Liege Magic Card artwork. A frog-like, tentacled monster rises from dark waters. Original Murkfiend Liege artwork by Carl Critchlow.

Inktober Day 2: Weave. Black and white ink drawing of the character Gale from Baldur's Gate 3. Gale has one hand down by his side and the other hand is raised, conjuring a magical spell. A magical force swirls around Gale and a spellbook levitates in front of him. Gale's eyes crackle with magical energy.

I haven't used this account in a long time, but I'm going to attempt to follow through with #Inktober this year, so I will be posting my drawings here (mainly to keep myself accountable) Anyways, here's Day 1

Inktober Day 1: "Mustache". A Black and white ink drawing of the characters Garmond and Zaza from Hollow Knight: Silksong. Garmond is sitting down, resting his weapon in one hand and petting Zaza with the other. Zaza is looking up at Garmond.

I'm now caught up to the point of finishing The Well. Watching more next week, but for now, HOLY SHIT. Great first two episodes. Belinda is amazing. But The Well honestly has to be my favorite of Ncuti's run so far. So so glad I managed to avoid spoilers because that reveal gave me actual chills.

I wrote you a poem this morning.

Everything is Terrible So Here’s a Picture of a Tree

Everything is terrible so here’s a picture of a tree
here’s a picture of a cat
I’m sorry for sending you a picture of a cat when everything is terrible
No, don’t be, please
I want the pictures of cats
of trees
Maybe it’s me who’s irresponsible, wanting those pictures of trees
of cats
when everything is so terrible
No, it’s not
It’s not irresponsible to want to remember the fragility of a leaf
and its power too
the way it buds and grows and changes color and falls. The way it feeds some and shelters others, all while powering something mighty, with such deep roots
It’s not irresponsible to want to look at soft warm fur, and imagine pressing your face into that softness, or to contemplate the miracle of toes spread wide in pleasure, or smile at some small naughtiness captured in pixels
You send me these things because you love me.
And I send them to you because I love you
yes, even if I don’t know you
I am sending you this picture of a tree, this picture of a cat, because I love you and I want you to know that you are loved enough for me to want you to remember trees
and to remember cats
even when it feels wrong to do so.
Let us both remember that trees have roots that dig into the earth
and branches that reach to the sky
even on the worst days.
And cats—
cats especially—
for they are famous for enjoying the soft caress of a friend one moment
and turning into a ferocious ball of claws and teeth and bristling fur and indignation the next
as must we.
So send me your pictures of cats
of trees
And let us both save our apologies for what we cannot do
instead of what we can.

My final project for a class was recently selected to be featured in my community college's annual student show! This is the first time any of my art has been chosen for something like this so I am PUMPED! "Dio" - Graphite drawing #art

A graphite drawing of an imaginary space intended to represent musical artist Ronnie James Dio. A record player sits on a shelf along with a microphone and a box laying on its side containing records. The record on the record player is coming to life with a reference to Dio's Holy Diver album cover. A chained man in priest's clothing is drowning in the record as if it is made of water. The record is also the source of a waterfall that flows down and off of the shelf. A demonic figure behind the man holds a chain above his head in one hand and makes the "devil horns" gesture with the other. Sitting in the box of records, an angel looks out at the scene of the demon and the priest. The angel is a reference to the album cover of Heaven and Hell, the first album that Dio recorded with Black Sabbath. Above the angel and demon, a rainbow arcs into the space from an open window, bringing the night sky and stars along with it.
