I made this wizard tower in blender for my game. I’m happy with how it fits into the atmosphere of the world around it #indiegame

I’m still making assets in Blender for my game in UE and the process is starting to stick. This is my main character’s cottage! #indiedev

So excited to have my animation demo completed by the fabulous @melissamedinavo.bsky.social and @justrandygreer.bsky.social at @scarygoodstudio.bsky.social! The scripts, the pre-production, and the post-production are just perfection! 🔥 Not to mention every step of the way was pure fun!

It’s magestic. The air on my skin feels as good as it all looks.

If I could write myself 10 years ago I’d say: You’ll meet your goals, people who inspire you, people you inspire. Your work will positively impact others, you might get lucky enough to hear it. Yes, in its own timing but you work for it Especially when it’s handed to you

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 06/04/2025

I started reading Gideon The Ninth. It’s more enjoyable than the book description or reviews articulate. It scratches a very specific itch I have for dark fantasy science fiction. I’m probably going to eat through the series 🤓

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 06/04/2025

I finished reading Babel. It was recommended to me a lot and I see why. It’s an instant classic, dark academia, historical fantasy, and it has evocative undertones. While there was very little character development, the plot was worth it

I started reading Babel, by popular recommendation. It’s off to a great start

130

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 01/03/2025

New month, new reading plan. What are my fellow book punks reading? I’ve got Mordew, The Witchwood Crown, Babel, and Alien Clay up next

010

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

I ended Feb with a bang. Wayward Galaxy is very ‘explody space marine’ with just enough humor. The plot moved well, it was easy to read and understand, still managed to pose a question while being adventurous. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ll read more of it.

120

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

The Terror was a strange isolation horror. It abandons that near the end without resolution. I guess I didn’t really get what this book has to say. It was entertaining and flowed incredibly for its length. It was bizarrely sexual at times and unkind to women in the story. The horror itself was good

120

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Infomacracy was timely. It’s a forward projection of current social political landscape. When bad gets worse plus cyberpunk gives you, this book. At some point the commentary came at the detriment of character and plot. I did like it in broad strokes

110

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

I struggle with old Sci-Fi. I was able to appreciate The Simulacra for what it influenced in modern sci-fi. If I had read this when it came out, I would have been blown away by the concept and twist. It would have made a great Twilight Zone episode

110

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Survive The Night was fun. It felt like a pop-fic horror. The nostalgia pandering took me out a few times but it kept all whiplash of a murder mystery. I could tell it was trying hard to be picked up for a live action adaptation. The result was entertainment.

110

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Piranesi filled a ‘magical realism’ shaped hole in my library. It did it well and with kindness. It’s a lovely little fantasy and it has heart as well as intrigue. I also loved the liminal maze and would recommend this to any reader

110

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Briardark was my least favorite read this month. It was the writing style and characters that turned me off. Lots of bickering, bitterness as a main flavor. I forgot it was a horror with all the writers catharsis

110

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Decoding The Heavens was my favorite read this month. It’s a non-fiction about discovering an ancient computer and everything that went into understanding what it did. This is an obvious read for anyone

110

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Another great month of mostly enjoyable reads. My thoughts on each read are in the thread :]

230

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 26/02/2025

I managed to read fewer books this month but I’m excited to blab about them here in a few days. You’ve been warned

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 24/02/2025

Oh you actually read what I wrote? Let me offer you my finest respect and patience But you didn’t understand what I wrote? Doesn’t matter. I said patience and respect. I saved you some

160

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

It’s so good. I love the writing. We’re fighting the urge to watch before S2 finishes releasing

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 18/02/2025

I spent a little time being purely creative, in a non-business capacity. Creating music, writing, drawing. It’s amazing how much of myself was restored. It reminded me why I do what I do

1130

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

I wrote some dungeon synth music and composed a vocal melody just for Melissa to sing. While she recorded it, I heard some majestic chittering outside. Look who came to sing along to our music!

Randy Greer @justrandygreer.bsky.social · 10/02/2025

It seems that without fail, the fastest way to get myself hired is to mind my own business and start creating things for myself.

Take pictures. Keep a diary. Create all the art you can even if you're not good at it. Consume all the art you can even if it's not good. Don't be afraid to say I love you when you mean it. Care for the vulnerable. Don't worry if you're smart. Prioritize doing good over being nice.

City of Last Chances is similar to giving up juice drinks for real fruit. Once your palette adjusts, it’s written fantastically. It has believable conflict, reasonable course of action + a plot that satisfies. Great commentary on censorship and class. How British! 3.75/5

Not originally on my 2025 book list, Fourth Wing was written for a target audience I’m not in. My friends loved it and because I can’t do them dirty, I’ll skip my review here. Entertaining, but not for me 1.75/5
