The filibuster is so fundamentally anti-democratic that forcing the authoritarian party to kill it so that they could keep taking health care and food away from Americans was probably the cleanest out from the damn thing, yet this Cones of Duneshire-ass opposition party loves rules more than wins.

Even if the Senate voted to extend ACA subsidies, the GOP-controlled House is unlikely to allow a vote on them. And there's of course no guarantee that Trump would even go along with a deal. The cruel irony is that this will end up hurting Republican states the most.

We believe healthcare is a right for every American. But starting today, millions of people will be notified that they are being priced out of their insurance thanks to Republican policies. Enough is enough. The GOP may shut down the government, but we will stand tall for YOU.

It is a fact that people are being kidnapped and sent to disappear in detainment centers never to be heard from again in 2025's America

Most people would be deeply broken down facing the challenges I faced in the last decade And I am tired of endlessly blaming myself, because deep down I know I'm here not just to survive but to thrive And I defy the metaphorical pipelines I was supposed to be pushed down to

For the longest time, I have blamed myself for many of the failures I had in my junior years of high school and college But the truth was, while some people were standing on the shoulders of giants, I was standing on a pile of rubble and ruins

The Democrats need to illegitimatize Trump and the Republicans at every turn, to fight for the hearts and mind of the American people and the military personnel They need to position themselves as the defender of the Constitution and rule of law, to win over as much support as possible.

Aoreyus @justonite.bsky.social · 15/08/2025
I think now it is a good time for the Democrats as a whole to position themselves as the restorer of the Constitution, democracy and rule of law The Republican party is no more, it is the MAGA cult now, and the Democrats need to paint them as the party of crime and the un-constitutionals

The Trump regime is staffing the federal government and agency with people that are only loyal to him, from the FBI to the BLS It is foolish for blue state with a democratic trifecta to not start doing the same thing. They need to staff blue state law enforcement with people loyal to democracy

Aoreyus @justonite.bsky.social · 15/08/2025
If the time ever comes that Trump tries to declare Democratic politicians insurrectionists/foreign assets, and tries to take over local law enforcement, at least on a state level there won't be as much Trump collaborators

Aoreyus @justonite.bsky.social · 15/08/2025
It is my personal opinion that the blue state governors and lawmakers need to take a look at their states local law enforcement and think of strategies to push out sheriffs and head of agencies that are Trump sympathizers

They already normalized the idea habeas corpus doesn't apply to everyone, despite it blatantly being against the spirit of the law, so what due process is left to protect anyone from just being accused of a rebel or insurrectionists?
000
Aoreyus @justonite.bsky.social · 15/08/2025
Besides what is there to stop the federal government from declaring that an insurrection or rebellion is happening? What guardrails are left in place to protect the federal government from accusing anyone of being a spy or a rebel?

ICE for all intends and purposes, with it's funding, with it's student loan forgiveness program and sign on bonus comparable to the US military, is a 5th branch of the military now But since it's a federal agency, like the FBI, it's a paramilitary force that could be used domestically
100
Aoreyus @justonite.bsky.social · 15/08/2025
The law, Posse Comitatus, only states that the federal government cannot use the military for domestic law enforcement. Military can absolutely be used when it is putting down a rebellion or an insurrection It also does not forbid the government from creating a paramilitary force

Blue state governors, especially blue state with Democratic trifectas need to prepare for the inevitable reality when Trump and his cronies refuse to certify legitimate elections results The gerrymander battle shouldn't be the end all be all of the Democratic strategy

Aoreyus @justonite.bsky.social · 15/08/2025
The battle for the midterm by stopping Republican gerrymandering is an important fight But let's not kid ourselves, Trump and the current Republican party is not going to peaceful transition power over to Democrats if they win over the elections They have no intentions on relinquishing power

I have heard people tell me so many times that mixing wildly different ideas or paths or things won't work And they're right, because I listened to them... But I have a feeling that is going to come an end, because I realized I do know what I'm talking about

I am so goddamn tired of this take that AI will have no economic harms at all and just bring nothing but positives. It is so incredibly dangerous to just keep on keeping on. You know what an entrepreneur's dream come true is? Having customers with money to spend, and failure not leading to poverty.

A bill banning basic income programs has passed the Texas Senate and now needs to also be passed by the House. If passed, it would join Idaho, Iowa, Arkansas, and South Dakota in such a ban. Billionaires are funding these efforts. They are afraid of UBI. www.scottsantens.com/billionaire-...

And the stuff that the billionaires are pulling at the state level, state by state, is pouring gasoline all over dry tinder. They want to stop universal basic income from happening and they don't seem to realize, that's the thing they should be spending money on to make happen to avoid pitchforks.

We can’t wait for national change. The road back starts with one seat at a time. A school board here. A city council there. If the far-right can take over the country from the bottom up, so can we

Their secret? Start small. Build power locally. Scale it up. The progressive left needs to adopt the same strategy. Every school board, city council, and county committee matters. That’s where the future is decided.

This isn’t just an American story. In Europe, Orbán’s Hungary looked like an outlier—until his ideas spread. Poland followed. Italy. And now the far-right threatens France and Germany. The playbook is global.

Aoreyus @justonite.bsky.social · 25/04/2025
With every small local seat they won, the far-right used the levers of power to spread their ideology further. One flipped county became two, then four, then eight. It was geometric growth. Now, entire states are under their control.

The GOP establishment tried to resist. But then Trump came along. He didn’t just embrace the alt-right—he unified it. After losing in 2020, he purged the old guard. Between 2020–2024, the Republican Party became fully consumed.

As they organized, these far-right figures formed the Tea Party movement—an insurgency that pushed their ideology into the heart of the GOP. What began as a fringe became mainstream. They weren’t just loud; they were strategic.

The alt-right MAGA infection didn’t begin with Trump. It started quietly—in fringe counties across rural southern regions, dismissed by the Republican establishment. But slowly, far-right ideologues gained footholds in local governments

Universal benefits like UBI are fast, dignified & fraud-resistant. Everyone gets the same amount. No gatekeepers. No prove you’re poor forms. Then, at tax time, those making more pay more through progressive taxes. No extra forms. No wasted overhead. Just equity without cruelty.

At this point as a matter of law, principle and morality Trump has to be impeached. Flagrantly violating a Supreme Court order to facilitate the return of an innocent man sent to a slave labor gulag with no due process is so immensely evil it's earth shattering.

We are need to prepare for the reality of a fractured America heading towards HRE-fication If Congress remains deadlocked, Supreme Court ruling can be ignored, federal authority is weakened as Blue and Red states develop rival and parallel governmental structures

If the highest office of the United States can defy a Supreme Court order, and the Supreme Court is unable to enforce the rule of law All bets will be off, like legitimately this will show people that they can break laws without consequence, and that is an ugly can of warms waiting to be open
