Watched Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender…. What a film! I’m sad Paramount never went down the route of a cinema release, total miss for them (surely look at the numbers the anime films do?)

Everyone’s suddenly watching Masters of The Universe since it’s come to Prime and my god the hate I’m seeing for it This is why we can’t have nice things anymore, everyone’s a damn critic

Loved The Bear season 1/2 but suddenly with 3 it lost its way onwards. Might have been because they wrote/shot 3/4 back to back and S5 wasn’t planned but the writing just didn’t quite capture the lighting in a bottle of those first 2

And that’s a wrap on The Bear season 5 I’ll be super honest, it felt like a chore to get through. A final season dedicated to a single dinner service felt, odd Every episode felt a retread of the last until the big climax in episode 7 and then the finale

Haven’t been about as much this month but it’s that time again for my month round up of cinema films I watched (yeah poor month): 1. Master of The Universe 2. Jackass: Best and Last 3. Supergirl 4. Disclosure Day Let’s talk about em….

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

Ok so finally watched Beef season 2…..it’s nowhere near as good as season 1

Also I fully get the signature image of the Supes with both Superman/Supergirl is in space/sky with the sun in front of them soaking up those rays but god damn this film did that same scene 3-4 times and it wasn’t needed

000

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

Saw Supergirl last night and really disappointed. Didn’t think it was a great film (but I wouldn’t say it was awful either), it really felt lacking in story, drive, focus and posted itself as a ‘James Gunn’ style which has me worried the new DCU will be all his style

Disclosure Day feels like it was a planned series but they went ‘scrap that let’s make a big movie of nothing’ By that I mean, everything feels squashed, scenes feel missing. It’s like it was imagined as some 8-10 episode HBO limited series

020

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

So Disclosure Day…..yup I think it was terrible. Story was just non-sensical, CGI was really bad and the acting from a great cast was just bland like they had no direction. I wouldn’t recommend sitting through 2 and a half hours of nonsense

120

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Anyway haven’t done my monthly rating of cinema films I’ve seen for May because I forgot so LET’S GOOOOO: 1. Obesession 2. Mortal Kombat II 3. Hokum 4. The Devil Wears Prada 2 5. The Backrooms 6. Mandalorian and Grogu 7. The Sheep Detectives 8. Passenger

110

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Seeing Disclosure Day today and I’m just not hyped at all

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

Everyone’s got their favourite Bond but yeah mines got to be Pierce Brosnan because I’m a 90’s kid so those were my generation Watched Goldeneye last night but I think it might be my least favourite of his

Anyway Power Ranger comics is all we have at the moment so gotta live with it (and hey might get good) but I hate this period we’re in with no more PR after so much was being built up at Netflix and then vanished overnight!

We had such a good Power Rangers comic series from Boom Studios and then they decided to end that run, start up a new run and tell the story again (it was alright but just not as good as the previous) That ended and we now have a new run starting and yet again, it’s just MMPR and isn’t great

110

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

But anyway, I loved Masters of The Universe, it was fun, action packed, nobody went too serious and it played into the 80’s perfectly. Sadly I’m seeing it being called a James Gunn/Guardians rip off and it’s come at a tough time when you’ve got Mandalorian and Supergirl

As more news comes out, I’m finding it crazy that Amazon decided to axe the Stargate reboot because it’s ’catered to fans’ so they want to think of getting a fresh show runner who doesn’t know the show Please make it make sense?? #Stargate #SaveStargate

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

Actually devastated by the news that Amazon won’t be going ahead with the Stargate series. Like damn it had all the OG creators and writers on it!

Backrooms is interesting. A hell of a lot of hype around this film, but I don’t really see why. I’m not up with the lore around it all but have delved into a bit. The first half of the film is great, really interesting….

100

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

But the films, Passenger I saw maybe half of before walking out and it was pretty boring and weird. I just couldn’t get into it but that could have been because of the awful audience so I’ll give it another chance at home

000

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

Last night I saw Passenger tonight I saw Backrooms Both terrible cinema experiences because people don’t know how to act in public anymore

100

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 26/05/2026

People need to realise Amazon Prime is a split service of stream films on membership and buy films separate to that So tired of seeing people complain ‘Why do I have to pay for this film if I have Prime’, well that film isn’t on the membership side

000

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

And still the only good Star Wars film of the last 20 years is Rogue One

110

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

Saw Mandalorian and Grogu, it’s not a great Star Wars film that honestly is just season 4 of the show mashed together into a 2 hour film. You can actually see where one episode would end and the next begins. A shame for something that could have been a great return for Star Wars cinema!

I remember when Sony bought Bungie and they made a big deal how Destiny is going to become bigger and bigger and Sony had this vision for films, TV and animated series….. None of these things happened and we never even got a live action trailer comeback either

100

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 21/05/2026

Damn, after 12 years Bungie are officially closing the doors on Destiny Spent a hell of a lot of time on Destiny/Destiny 2 and things sure did drop off after The Final Shape but this is a real shame it’s ending (probably so they can work on Marathon which is a no thanks from me)

So that’s a wrap on The Boys, really disappointed in this season overall and to be honest I think this could have been a show that ended darkly

000

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

Decided to stick on Doom (yeah that one but whatever I enjoy it) and it starts off ‘in the year 2026’ Anyone else feel super old when a film from years ago does that?

010

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

It’s some of the worst ‘content’ I see online and I wish it wasn’t so heavily pushed What annoys me more is people saying ‘I made something Hollywood would spent millions making’, erm no you didn’t make anything at all. You literally typed a prompt

020

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

Saw Obsession last night, damn film might need to go into my 2026 top 10!

020

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

I tried playing Mixtape but it wasn’t for me. There’s a huge lack of gameplay and I usually love the more story driven interactive movie types

100

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

Maybe TV can’t go behind 2/3 seasons anymore, struggling to think of something that’s been consistently good over the last few years because The Bear fell off the side of a cliff

100

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

I’m at that stage now where I’m not even that excited to watch the latest episode of The Boys because how is this the final season. Barely anything has happened except a constant Scooby Doo chase for V1

100

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 09/05/2026

Anyway horror night tonight, just finished The Monkey and now watching The Green Inferno (haven’t watched this for a long time)

000

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 09/05/2026

I’d love to know why Mortal Kombat II got delayed for 8 months. Was it because Karl Urban being in The Boys would create super promotion for the film?

Moral of the story is, we have no idea who we’re talking to online which can sometimes be ok but just don’t pretend an entire life and lead people into this, especially making out you have every metal health code ever made. Not cool

The Dalia situation is so fucked up and sad, but this is not an isolated happening. The internet has brought me some of the closest friendships I've ever had, but there are still many deeply unwell people on these apps who lie and lie and lie to embed themselves into communities for attention.

In other news tonight I saw Mortal Kombat II and damn is that a good film! It’s just outright fun, never takes itself seriously, plays well with the game lore and did I mention it has fun?

110

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

Well my minds kinda blown that ‘Dalia’ who I’ve followed for a while now from Twitter (and was the person who introduced me to here) is actually a catfish and made up their entire life…..

110

Matt @justmattr.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

Hokum - Damn saw this on Friday and was terrified from start to end! It’s suspenseful, creepy and eerie with this Irish folk story (which are alway the best!)

That time again, movies I watched last month in the cinema and their rankings (let’s be honest it doesn’t look great!) 1. The Drama 2. Fuze 3. Super Mario Galaxy Movie 4. Michael 5. The Mummy Let’s get into them….

Sadly I think that’s me done with Destiny. I haven’t been playing for about a year and a half, picked it up recently to try and get back into it and just ain’t happening. Farewell old friend

I saw Michael and well, yeah. I love his music and was kinda looking forward to this and then the reviews started rolling in which I never let them sway me but my god, that film is just an awful PR stunt

When I see posts saying ‘the acting in From is awful’ I just know we’re of a different tike right now because back in the day we didn’t think twice about the acting and just enjoyed the weird story of these types of shows
