Fundraising is exhausting. First call: chat w/ a fund portco raising Series A, remind her that fundraising is no fun...but keep going! Only to turn around & furiously fundraise for our college campus project, which I'm exhausted of (Currently: why did I buy a college campus? It'd be fun, I said!)

To Angel Investors: Sometimes it's hard to pull the trigger. Quick ideas to get over the hump: ✅ Identify what your "yeses" are in addition to just your "nos" 🗓️ Create an investing schedule and stick to it 💸 Know what your budget is and how you want to allocate it so you can say yes quickly

I see this often in founding teams between long-time friends or family members who've likely never actually worked together before. Mind you, it definitely CAN work, but the assumption is made that since they *know* each other and *like* each other, they can *work* with each other. 🧵⬇️

When you have two people who've consciously developed their own "best groove" and know how to get things done, if you just can't get an integration that works between the two sets of processes without breaking either platform, you gotta call it, and find another route. 🧵⬇️

This usually happens between two higher-performers. It's not that both aren't capable of or willing to change. It's that the gap is too large, and if one or the other (or both) tries to compensate for it, they end up being *lower* performers, and that's no good for anyone. 🧵⬇️
