The only other scenario I can imagine is that it implicates someone else who cld damage him in some way, and has vowed to do so if certain info comes out. Which seems overly complex and ignores the lengthy, intimate history betw the two men.

This may be more of an indictment than a defense, but - if he only means *popular business and management books* then yes, you could read dozens of them a day via chatgpt summaries. Most are 5-minute concepts stretched over 256 pages.
