As airlines communicate softness in passenger demand, note that of the 105 days we've had so far in 2025, YOY passengers have only grown on 55 days (52%) adjusted for same DOW. Looking at days that rely on biz travel (Tue/Wed), YOY growth has only occurred on 5 of 30 days (17%). TSA throughput data

Over the weekend Delta Air Lines added a second daily MCI-LAX and a fifth daily MCI-MSP for Summer 2025. Additionally, United Airlines added a sixth daily MCI-ORD effective June 2025. Thanks for flying!

Is anyone still keeping eyes on that daily TSA throughput report? Since April 2021, there have only been 45 days where the throughput is down same day YOY. Of those 45, 27 have occurred since Labor Day 2024…

Denver Airport will close the Concourse A bridge security checkpoint on Dec. 9 except during periods of "urgent need", and close the checkpoint permanently next year. The bridge will return to the simple life of just being a bridge.

Earlier this week Kansas City International Airport (MCI) turned 52 years old. MCI became Kansas City’s commercial service airport on 11 November 1972 and, since opening, has served 450 million air travelers.
