As a PR person: This does suck, and it's because reporter lists get handed around PR orgs with no context of what a reporter actually does. "Chris Mims/Tech/WSJ" in a spreadsheet means every PR type adds you to their pitch list, whether its fusion power or cat-poop-cleaning robots.
