Another issue related to the Trump tariffs is that retaliatory tariffs are almost certain to be placed on USA exports to China, Canada and Mexico, seriously threatening vital sectors including agriculture. Tariffs + mass deportations will send the price of food soaring.

This is 100% accurate. It’s not super helpful to have staunch Democrats be the face of the opposition for the truly unconfirmable nominations. That just helps the GOP circle the wagons. We need arguments that resonate with the 7 potential swing senators from folks that aren’t coded as progressive.
