I’m looking for interesting text books for a middle school computer science class. I know that sounds kind of old-fashioned, but I’m looking for a new angle.

@doublefine.com Hi there! I'm a middle school computer science teacher in San Francisco. Do you ever allow field trips to your offices? My kids would love to visit a real-life studio; especially one as legendary as yours. Thanks!

Wow, these last few seasons of the apprentice have been insane!

Haven't watched this all the way through, but I'm adding it here so I remember it for later. Anyone here seen it before?

@ani-obsessive.bsky.social any idea where I can watch old Mighty Heroes episodes? I got the Mighty Mouse DVD for Xmas this year so I’m hungry for more Saturday morning Bakshi.

I would pay $200 for a book of storyboards of Bakshi’s Mighty Mouse.

Please tell your kids, every damn day if necessary, that chatGPT is not a goddamn search engine and you shouldn’t believe a word it says. Tell the adults too, but it’s especially imperative to inoculate kids against this

Current animated cartoon projects I'd like to make: Jabberwocky adaptation; various short autobiographies; folk story about Marius Jacob; feature film adaptation of Nabokov's Pnin.

Watching Skeleton Crew was like being a kid in the 80s again. SM-33's fight scene against the space pirates had me bouncing in my seat. Can't wait for more!

looking for interesting, independent game development-related field trips in san francisco for a group of 20-40 middle school students. anyone want to volunteer their studio for a quick tour?

nerd alert! son of the white mare is the best animated movie most people have never heard of. I’m finally able to watch my bluray copy and it’s glorious!

A thread. My favorite movies from each year, starting with:
 1916 INTOLERANCE ⭐️⭐️⭐️½
This grandeur of this early mega-epic means there's a lot to recommend it, though I find the overall tone smug and cloying; an early "cancel culture is out of control."
(This is the only film I've seen from 1916.)

A still from DW Griffith's INTOLERANCE (1916) depicting a massive Babylonian temple, with a huge staircase in the middle climbing to a series of decorative walls with huge arches, beyond which can be spied further decorative walls with arches, receding into the distance. On either side, massive pillars rise supporting plinths upon which immense statues of elephants are set, facing each other. Over the entire scene, hundreds of people are moving like ants.

As a middle school teacher I know a cheater when I see one. Even if Trump would have won without cheating, isn't it just a good idea to double check?

One of my favorite things about #teaching is that the halls are regularly filled with live music.

#Storyboard exercise with my media students. Assignment: tell a true, personal story using Adobe Animate. Now it's time to start animating!

@nate.moore.codes I took a look at your space pizza game. I'm curious about your process for hosting the game directly on your website. how did you do that? so far, i've only been able to post on itch.io (although there's nothing to see on my itch channel yet, but stay tuned).

I teach middle school #computerscience. We’re learning Godot this semester. Is it ok to allow the students to use chatGPT as a script writing assistant?
