Today marks 1 year leading our amazing team at NOVA Parks. I began today meeting with our great partners in the City of Falls Church and spent the afternoon crisscrossing Loudoun for meetings about how we grow. And last month we got to talk to some goats at Temple Hall.

I don’t know why I ever dare to believe anymore…. I would ask when pitchers and catchers report, but the Nats don’t have pitchers, so… Go Wizards!!?

We have crisscrossed the world, gotten two kids off to college and managed to have some fun while doing it. …and through 25 years we look exactly the same! Happy Anniversary! I love you!

Thanks to Lt. Gov. Hashmi and our partner organizations for participating in the NOVA Parks Women’s Equality Day celebration. Today’s event at Occoquan Regional Park commemorates the ratification of the 19th amendment and the continued work to extend suffrage to ALL women.

We had the honor of meeting LGen Rohmer of the Royal Canadian Air Force 2 years ago in Caen, France (he turned 102 in Jan!). He performed critical aerial reconn over Nazi-occupied France in advance of DDay. Canada is our ally and has been for every battle for over a century.

The Wife and I have been engaged in a small-group project for nearly 22 years. Today we turn in our second assignment as Kid2 becomes a @virginiatech.bsky.social Hokie, and we head back north to a very quiet house. Do great things, Daughter, and do them in the right way. …and have fun!

A wonderful review of the NOVA Parks W&OD Trail. We already knew it was the best trail on the planet, but it's important to have outside validation. youtu.be/z1jQIVS0WTs?...

Great crowd at the NOVA Parks Tinner Hill Historic Site to celebrate Juneteenth! Over a century ago, the first rural NAACP branch in our nation was founded to prevent enforcement of a segregation ordinance that sought to divide a community.

Ended the day back at Great Waves at Cameron Run Regional Park. I spoke to the team as part of our aquatics kick-off as they participate in safety training. This summer NOVA Parks has hired 600 seasonal employees and we remain one of the largest youth employers in the region!

Swung by NOVA Parks Cameron Run Regional Park on a busy Sunday to say hello to our great team, chat with visitors and most importantly: perform quality control on our Dippin’ Dots. We had over 2,300 visitors having fun yesterday. It’s always a great time at Great Waves!

Got “close” to Leesburg and hit MOST of the pit-stops on the @NOVA_Parks W&OD Trail for Bike to Work Day. I get antsy when I’m past the outer reaches of Metro (Do people actually live past the Silver Line?) so I ducked into the Ashburn station for Metro to take me back East.
