The devastating murders of Johan Sebastián Guerrero and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo by ICE agents demonstrates yet again why we must fight back against the violent ramp-up of immigration enforcement. We demand that Congress stop funding ICE and hold them accountable for these senseless killings.

This week's Supreme Court decision on Temporary Protected Status means an increase of immigration enforcement that will lead to even more people being locked up in facilities that are failing to keep people safe, including from sexual abuse. The ramp up of immigration detention must end now.

As ICE patrolled Minnesota, one man insisted keeping his family home, even though he's a citizen. That was until his 5-year-old daughter really wanted ice cream, saying “I’m brave. I can go.” When they returned from the ice cream shop, ICE agents were at his house. Their reign of terror must end.
His daughter has been living in fear since. She doesn’t want to go outside and is constantly scanning for cars with tinted windows. Another time they went to get ice cream, she begged her father to take her home.
One day as they were driving, they witnessed 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos getting detained by ICE. She asked her dad, “They can take kids too?” When they returned, she closed the curtains in the house and used her family’s shoes to block the front door. That same day, they saw ICE agents four other times, constantly hearing whistles in the background.
