Just watched Julian Schnabel's IN THE HAND OF DANTE and I have thoughts… Roman Vasyanov's cinematography alone is worth the watch. A vibrant 14th-century Italy in color vs. gritty modern noir in black & white. Full review dropping soon on #justreadingnook 🎬✍️ #InTheHandOfDante #Netflix #FilmReview

We did brunch from kindergarten all the way through college — diners, ice cream parlors, all of it. Now, no milkshakes, but cocktails. As I reached for my card and she tapped hers first. Just like that. I didn’t know whether to cry or smile, so I did both. Tempus fugit. Hold your kids close. 🖤

So we packed up and left work early so my boys could pick up the newly released game. How I wish my readers would do the same every time I release a new book. Sigh.

Day 2 with our little guy. He’s already stronger than yesterday and seems to love his new milk formula. My newest writing companion, and future editor in the making. 🖤🐈‍⬛ We rescued him from one of the bushes in the rain.

So it happened! the very thing the #writingcommunity has been dreading. What makes it worse is that she didn’t just exploit AI to sell books to readers; she went a step further and taught others how to do it too, profiting further from it. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/08/b...

Much as I’m partial to the original novel over its film adaptation, when it comes to a #GossipGirl spinoff, I’d rather see it on TV or film with the original cast. Catching up with them 20 years later.

The evil, petty writer in me puts everyone who annoys me straight into my novel, immortalizing them as hideous, revolting creatures: the pimple-popping, missing-tooth types who drool every time they open their mouths. Ahh…art is healing. 😈

While prepping the #questpit materials, I stepped outside my work area. The sun is out, everything is green, and it turns out that sometimes the best thing to do is absolutely nothing….. just appreciating what’s around you is enough.

Done with the characters’ dossier, storyline, and setting for the new novel. Yes, I’m back with dual POV, and I cannot wait to spar with this brilliant writer who’ll handle the dark side of Jack in “Bye, Jack!”, based on my short story. #wrìterslife #writingcommunity

Up way too early, hungry, air-fried nuggets, and being judged by my cat. Time to open my manuscript. Fair warning, this moment may be immortalized in fiction. #authorslife

From a #marketing standpoint: DO NOT offer your book for free or price it too low. Consumers are always looking for value, and they often perceive free or cheap goods as having little to no worth.

Your first draft doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to exist. Edit later; for now, let the words flow. Remember: you can’t edit a blank page. Write now, worry later. ✍️

Back in the ’90s, Scott Adams was one of us: cubicle-bound, fluorescent-lit, surviving bad meetings and worse bosses. Out of that grind came Dilbert: razor-sharp wit and painfully spot-on office life. We laughed because it was true. 🖤 #RIPScottAdams

To my writer and author friends 📚✍️: writing is a lonely journey, and there are many moments when we’re tempted to give up halfway through. But we owe it—to our readers and to our calling—to help build a community that encourages our children to keep reading.

First day of 2026. Alex and Axia (9 and 6) built a snowman from the porch and made me a birthday card with heart-shaped clay, colored from my book. It’s way too early for watery eyes. Surely this scene will end up in my next novel. 🩵⛄️

Van Gogh’s The Bedroom 🛏️🎨 Did you know there are three versions of this painting? Same room, same bed—different colors, moods, and details each time. Lucky enough to see the one at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris 🇫🇷 and the one at the Art Institute of Chicago 🇺🇸 Art hits different when you see it IRL.
