We're halfway through Hispanic Heritage Month, and we want to make sure we commemorate the contributions that Hispanic actors and places have played in the Jurassic franchise. I certainly don't think the franchise would be the same without Latin America and the people that come with it.
Clockwise, six images of Hispanic actors/characters from the Jurassic franchise: Juanito Rostagno, the site director of the Mano de Dios Amber Mine. Carter, an InGen dinosaur hunter who famously died while being stepped on by a T. rex, an InGen worker cameoed by famous stuntman Tommy Rosales, Sammy Gutierrez, a Texas rancher who stars in the animated Neflix series, Zia Rodriguez, played by Daniella Pineda, and the Delgado family from Jurassic World Rebirth.

'It's a Jurassic Park print! I know this!' One of the earliest and greatest films I saw as a youngster on the big screen, and now an amazing opportunity to handle and project it 33 years later. Playing at Showroom Cinema Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August […] [Original post on mastodon.social]
A short sequence of 35mm frames from a classic '90s Jurassic Park print in which a clever girl, Lex (Ariana Richards) soon realises the computer in front of her (running an early 3D graphical user interface) is a Unix system. She knows this.Close up of a complete print of Jurassic Park on 35mm, ready for playback from a platter system. The print label reads "Jurassic Park / Flat / SR / 7 reels / pulsed" denoting the film title, projection ratio, sound type, reel number, and automation markers respectivelyClose up of a 35mm film can of an original Jurassic Park print from Rank Film Laboratories from over 30 years ago. The worn and faded label informs us this is a colour print with Dolby sound and has a copyright and distribution warning in small red text beneathA short sequence of 35mm frames showing much of the main cast gather around a giant steaming pile of dinosaur excrement that sits atop a grassy plain. From left to right surrounding the merde mound is: Grant (played by the late Sam Neil), Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), a park ranger (uncredited?), and Ellie (Laura Dern) as they all look on with varying degrees of interest in the faecal profundity before them.

The Lost World Jurassic Park Sterile Bandages from Curad! Something has survived… so you better stick a bandage on it! Incredibly they don’t use that tagline on the box but pleasingly they DO employ “Dino Damage” (❤️) so I’ll let it slide. I love shit like this & have SO much of it for Lost World

Kenner The Lost World Jurassic Park Stegosaurus! A much nicer looking Steg than the bizarre horse-headed creature from the JP1 line. The tail-thrashing action works really well and the Dino damage is particularly gruesome. Like most Kenner herbivores it’s a lil small but otherwise a good movie match
Kenner The Lost World Jurassic Park Stegosaurus! The green steg is slightly camouflaged amongst the striking green of The Lost Word packaging though this does allow the brilliant red of the wonderfully gory dino damage wound to blaze like a beacon in the midst of it The back of the box, demonstrating the capture gear, wound and the small size of the piece compared to the human figures (they should be able to walk under the tail) The stegosaurus grazes contentedly with her baby (the very cute hatching included with Sarah Harding)…That contentment was short lived though as suddenly a pack of allosaurus surround them! Is it curtains for our roofed lizards?

We'd wish you a happy World Mosquito Day, but there's a problem. Hammond's cane doesn't contain a mosquito. It's actually a prehistoric crane fly playing the role of a mosquito. The larger size is meant to create the idea that prehistoric mosquitos were larger and more impressive than they were.

Four hour long speedpaint drawn and painted by hand in Procreate for iPad using an apple pencil. They're inside a curved viewing gallery watching a T. rex handler giving the T. rex family some enrichment with a large chunk of meat on a zipline, so that the handler is safely out of reach and will not be pulled into the enclosure. Nigel Marven is in the foreground explaining the activity to a pleased looking Alan Grant who now gets to see an actual functioning dinosaur park in Prehistoric Kingdom.
