If you haven't already, share this with every Philadelphian you know. I want to raise enough hell that Drexel will have no choice but to continue supporting the museum.

Happy #PaleoTuesday! Today we celebrate Jurassic Foundation Grantee Gabriel Lopez Isla, a geologist and PhD candidate at the Instituto Superior de Correlación Geológica (INSUGEO), a joint institute of the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) and the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (UNT), Argentina

Gabriel’s research ‪focuses on ‬vertebrate ichnology, sedimentology, and stratigraphy, particularly in peritidal carbonate systems of northwestern Argentina“My research investigates vertebrate track-bearing intervals within the Maastrichtian–Danian Yacoraite Formation (northwestern Argentina). I integrate ichnological, sedimentological, and stratigraphic data to understand the environmental and taphonomic controls on track preservation, and to reconstruct vertebrate paleoecology and behavior during the latest Cretaceous

What I find most rewarding is the ability to bring ancient worlds back to life from subtle traces preserved in the rock record. Trace fossils offer a unique window into the behavior of extinct organisms, allowing me to connect movement, environment, and ecology in a direct and tangible way”

🦕I am extremely grateful to my colleagues and The Jurassic Foundation for making this project possible, which has marked a milestone in our knowledge of European titanosaurs and which we are convinced is on its way to becoming a reference work in the field.
