I'm at a loss, like everyone applying for jobs right now. Nothing I do seems to get me anywhere. I'm working on getting my ToS updated, so I can start taking commissions soon. Not feeling hopeful, though, after seeing how many other artists are struggling to get by too...

Can't stress enough how demoralizing it is to keep getting the same rejection emails TWO MONTHS after applying to jobs... "Thank you for applying, however, we went with another candidate. Please apply to future opportunities! ;)" The disrespect & inequality of time investment ENRAGES me.

Maybe a camping towel? They're very lightweight, dry quickly & can be pretty soft. Also recommend a cooling towel to fight the heat: I usually use mine when running, but they're great to chill your neck while working.

Plum & Pistachio –––––––––––––––– Two new OCs, inspired by the black-chinned hummingbirds in my backyard. Plum is a loud & angy little bugger; his sister, Pistachio, is very roundy & anxious. Just thinking about these palm-sized gryphons has given me a wee boost of joy. ( ;v;)

can you believe it??

PANEL 1: a pigeon wearing an orange bowtie sits on a blue chair in front of a desk with an open laptop on it. someone on the laptop says "thanks for your interview. we'll be in touch by the end of the week!"
PANEL 2: the pigeon slouches, sweating and clutching their head. they look troubled. the laptop is closed now. run-on text fills the background; it's a narration of negative thoughts. "oh my god that went so bad i stuttered and stumbled and was silent for too long and even had to ask to start again and i sounded so boring and robotic and rambled on with no point..." ad nauseam
PANEL 3: later, the pigeon receives a phone call, looking shocked. on the other end of the phone, someone says "congrats, you got the job!"
PANEL 4: a close-up of the pigeon's face. they have their beak open in shock, and they hold one wing up to it. they say "my brain...lied to me??"

emotional whiplash... Within the space of 24 hrs: • My neighbors' dog, who I've been puppy-sitting for seven years, had to be put down (F cancer). • I had a successful interview for a job & they scheduled me for a second one next week
