And there's maybe concern you'd work against yourself. Unless the player piece is dramatically cheaper, people prob just buy the whole thing. But then you run the risk, people only buy the player piece because it has all the rules and they think... I'm already a GM, I don't need that other thing.

Sounds a lot like the difference between a player's handbook and a GM guide. But also notoriously, the PH is all that's really needed, the GM guide often seems extra. My opinion, just make one book.

I def get what it means but I've never seen a - used that way in a ttrpg book. I think one issue is that I'd be concerned it was a dash or typo, where a + is more distinctive. I mean, using the - that way makes logical sense I think it's just not that common so might need to be explained in rules

As both a journalist and a sociology major, I LOOOOOOVE data and this is an interesting example of using data to answer those sorta philosophical/design questions in TTRPGs. It's an interesting read. By no means the final word but it's a start to a conversation.

Agreed. Generally true for me, too. Occasionally I long for an extended sesh, maybe once or twice a year. But seems if I'm focused on the fantasy land more than that 3.5 hr span, the world starts to crumble, people in my real world demand my attention and I must go back.

Ya I have pals that love it. I read the first 2. I thought the action was a lot of fun, the world building to be mid. The loot boxes were endlessly annoying, everything I don't like about videogames. The jokes (usually) didn't land for me. I just have other stuff I'd rather read
