Conjugation of verbs is absolutely the hardest part for me so far. I have to think each word how it should be conjugated based on the infinity form and still often mess that up when I do.

The funny thing is I eat very healthy, and this was totally celebratory. I bought chicken and beer as I felt like chicken and beer. I had fruits and vegetables even more ironically before eating this yesterday, and here's the plate I made today for when I stream a little later on.

Grazie. :) I'm originally from Edmonton, so 99% of the food here is an immediate upgrade. :D I think Italy/EU wins for food for everything I've tried except beef. Alberta beef is still really really really good.

It's tough for sure, but immersion helps! What helped me is just remembering noun + adjective (reverse from English) and learning basic questions. They'll definitely respect you tried! Everyone here always does with me. And learning how to pronounce their alphabet was very important.

It's definitely imitating, but deeply rewarding to string together sentences to communicate in a foreign language abroad. I really like how I didn't have to default to English today and was able to pronounce everything as well to a point people understood.

It's crazy, especially coming from Canada. In my neighbourhood, I could lie down on the street for 5 hours and barely see a car, AND if you saw a car, it would give you the right of way 100% of the time. Here people just dart and weave past you, especially on motorcycles.

Oh, of course and I would assume as such as well for sure. There's definitely a lot of "tourist" English here where if you wanted to, you could talk in English at restaurants, etc. This just happened to be the first time I ventured out and spoke no English at all myself and without any help.

How do you find communicating in a foreign language? I'm honestly proud of myself, as Italian is clicking more. I'm far from fluent, but I said about ten sentences and people understood me. I understood them. This was the first time I did so without any kind of help or assistance at all. :)

I walked 20 minutes to a grocery store, didn't die, didn't get lost, communicated in Italian without any kind of mobile device to help, bought chicken and beer for lunch and walked back another 20 minutes without getting lost or dying to Italian traffic. Progress!
