when you first play ff7 you will never be prepared for how autistic and transgender sephiroth actually is. it’s like when you watch star trek tos for the first time and you’re like there’s no way kirkspock will actually be that gay and then they’re basically frenching in the first 30 seconds

My first ever commission featuring @juniperw.bsky.social 's Fiat Nox! #VGenComm

A half-body sketch of a Shagaru Magala character, Fiat Nox. Their arms are crossed and they are staring directly at the viewer. The sketch is done in black and white and there's cross-shading hatching throughout the sketch.

Here is my entry for #GenieDTIYS! It did say that any medium was acceptable, so I went with poetry! There‘s a lot of stuff in here and I might go into detail about all of the symbolism some other time— but in short, it’s about the arrival of spring and- (continued in replies)

Spring in Her Step

The foxgloves snake upside the hill
where lies a crown of rosen thorns
The lotus and the cobra’s hood
will open as Spring sounds her horns

She walks beneath the gingko’s shade
and shines upon the verdant fruits
She guides the flight of cardinals
and calls to bones beneath the roots

The peacock’s eyes behold the dawn
and watch the thousand cranes arrive
The golden veins renew the cracks
of where the earth was once alive

In time, all of her shrines will fall
and be buried by winter’s tears
In time, they shall all rise again
as they have for so many years

For the time being, I think I’m taking a break from Bluesky. It’s a nice platform in theory but I don’t feel all that motivated to do anything with this account. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Props to all of the Labour MPs who stood against the proposed welfare cuts. Thank you for not throwing disabled people under the bus; it should be the bare fucking minimum but of course the PM was willing to put countless people at risk in the name of defence spending.

Eugh. Today I found out that a food supplement I bought was recalled for being infected with salmonella. I didn’t get sick from taking them but will one-hundred percent be more cautious in the future. You really need to be careful with these things.

I cannot stop laughing about this dream I had last night. There was a new Doritos flavour called “Loaded Sandwich” which was the exact same as the regular cool ranch flavour except that it contained “beef powder”. I’m vegetarian so I was very angry I couldn’t have it.

We live in a time where compassion is increasingly taken as weakness. Remember, you are never weak for caring about others and raising awareness of their plight. Never let the atrocities of the past be forgotten, or be repeated. #HolocaustMemorialDay

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

(Poem by Martin Niemöller)

You are allowed to celebrate good things that are happening today: your birthday, a book coming out, new baby, new puppy, seeing your favorite piece of art in person, etc. Joy is the knife that stabs into the heart of despair & apathy. Feel your joys, big & small, & share them widely & loudly.
