Alisaie is too ferocious,
Capable and quite precocious.
She needs something she can use,
Something she can use each day.
Her possessions oft detain her,
And she needs a good retainer.
You might do, friend. Whaddya say?”
Charmed, I found I’d not refused.

Thankfully she didn’t want me,
But the memories still haunt me,
How she coldly curled her lip,
Curled her lip and turned her nose.
Alphinaud, of course, was kinder,
Gave me gold and said, “Don’t mind her.”
Smiled and said as he arose,
“Thank you for your fellowship.”

Sadly I informed the hiker
That I’d seen nobody like her.
Was the girl in peril now,
Peril of the gravest kind?
“Nay,” he laughed, “She’s really grumpy.
Our relationship is bumpy.
I can win her if I find
Some sweet gift that she’ll allow.”

“Does she go for frilly dresses,
Ribbons for her girlish tresses,
Chocolates for her appetite,
For her appetite soft?
Tell me, sir, what kind of maiden
You with various gifts would laden.”
Merrily the wand’rer scoffed,
“That would truly be a sight!

#alphinappreciation Day 2. This is fun, thanks @alphiappreciate.bsky.social!

A Chance Meeting

Late one night ‘twas dark and stormy
When appeared a boy before me,
Smiling softly in the rain,
In the rain and wind so cold.
“Sir,” said I, “Put on a jacket.
Did you even think to pack it?
You’ll get sick that way, I’m told.”
But the boy just smiled again.

“Sure, I’m freezing,” quoth the stranger,
“But I’m sure I’m in no danger.
Have you lately seen a lass,
Seen her and her mighty sword?
I am looking for my sister,
Thought I’d find her, but I missed her.
I could offer a reward
If you saw the maiden pass.”

@alphiappreciate.bsky.social #alphinappreciation Happy Alphinaud Appreciation Week! Day 1.

The End

Around the campfire there is cheer,
And all are light of heart,
For Alphinaud is speaking here
And plays the poet’s part.

He tells his tale in epic verse
Of heroes long ago
Who fought for better or for worse,
For triumph or for woe.

He honors them across the years,
The brave men far and wide,
And all around the fire shed tears
For Louisoix who died.

The youth has fallen silent now.
His story had no end,
For we must make an end somehow,
Eorzea to mend.
