there's so much to say about this photo, but mainly i can't stop laughing at hobi because that's the exact face i make when i've smoked a joint and the giggles are just about to take over my person

BTS posing with the director from Normal in her signature pose, with her on the floor looking up at what looks to be Jungkook. Everyone is locked in serving face, but Jungkook looks down at the director, and Hoseok looks like he's about to burst into giggles. This photo was taken in the urinal shot from the Normal MV, so the guys (and director) are all dressed in black, with a bathroom behind them, decorated in black tiles and orange wallpaper.

This Hobi always reminded me of the The Fall, so of course an ot7 fic specifically inspired by the fantasy story within a story in the movie, where seven mythical heroes gather, each with a fanatical desire to kill the tyrant governor for personal vengeance. Ofc they fall in love on the way.

Finished my first book for the category “family saga”. Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. Truly exceptional.

Five star review on Storygraph for the novel Homegojng by Yaa Gyasi

Life changing. It's rare to read something and know it's on its way to being a classic one day. I cried often, and was left with so many thoughts. I'll be thinking about this book for a long time to come. Every story moved me in its own way.

A highlighted quote from Homegoing that reads
“That night, lying next to Edward in his room, Yaw listened as his best friend told him that he had explained to the girl that you could not inherit a scar.
Now, nearing his fiftieth birthday, Yaw no longer knew if he believed this was true.”

ready to lock in on reading some physical books for autumn, so made myself this silly lil challenge. autumn of course is a nebulous concept that changes from place to place, but i'll do september - november, so aiming for just three books per month :))))) gonna work now on figuring out my read list.

an autumn reading challenge graphic

read one from each category

categories are: folk horror, family saga, romantasy, classic, retelling, suspense, contemporary romnace, coming of age, non-fiction

images are all cartoon cutesy doodle styles: a book, a stack of boots in a ribbon, an iced coffee, a pink flower, a pink bow, a hot chocolate with marshmallows, a goose reading a book, a sweater with daisies, and some bread.

here you joe! im not sure what the american measurements are for this honestly...

250g of wholemeal flour
200g of plain white flour
1 teaspoon of bread soda
350 ml of buttermilk
1 teaspoon of salt
1 medium egg
1 teaspoon of honey
(we added some porridge oats on top, and sesame seeds, but this isn’t totally necessary)

fan oven at 400 degrees f (200 c)

add the flours, bread soda and salt and mix.
combine egg, honey and buttermilk and slowly add to the flour. if dry, feel free to add a lil more buttermilk, but dough should be soft.
add to an oiled tin, and bake for 45-50 mins. wrap in a towel when you’re cooling it, and you can check if its done by tapping the bottom for a hollow sound.

junis serving suggestion is with TONNES of real irish butter and jam, or with same excessive butter serving but with no jam and some nice soup.

I also love this sad mer adjacent creature. Mermaid but more emo.

There's often a sadness to the magical beings who appear along coastlines.
MURÚCHA are shy coastal creatures who cry plaintively when nobody is around. They are human from the waist up but have a fish or seal tail. They differ from mermaids or mermen in their need for a COCHAILLÍN DRAÍOCHTA ('magical little hood') to travel between deep water and dry land.

Finding some wild stuff in this book in the place we’re staying. I love Irish mythology but have zero memory of hearing this mad bluebottle story before

For centuries, Étaín wandered as a bluebottle, facing many challenges along the way, until eventually she was blown into the wine glass of a chieftain's wife, who unwittingly swallowed her. The woman became pregnant with her and, nine months later, Étaín was born back into a human body. Midir came in search of her and managed to capture her from a palace in Tara by transforming her into a swan.
They flew together out of the smoke hole of the palace and are said to be still living happily in the Otherworldly domain beneath
Ardagh Hill.

shocked to say, no cackle, but many laughs! 🌱

"An alfalfa," Yoongi nods with a downwards smile. "Like, a little sprout sticking up at the crown of your head. It's really cute."

"Ugh, I am not cute," Jungkook scoffs. "I'm not an alfalfa. What the hell even is alfalfa?"

"It's a legume," Yoongi laughs. "They grow in the UK, and in Ireland, I think, maybe Australia."

Jungkook shakes his head slowly, incredulous. "Okay well, cool, I guess."

“You have to at least try to let yourself have fun, sweetpea,” Taehyung says with a knowing smile when Jungkook’s knuckles turn white on the wheel. “If you go into this weekend determined to be a pouty little bitch, then you know what? You’re going to have a shit time and validate all of your obsessive prejudices.”
