One of my favorite and most effective design patterns is "tell the player exactly what you're gonna do to them, then do it." You can be SIGNIFICANTLY meaner to the player if you simply tell them ahead of time that that's exactly what you'll be doing, and also the suspense of the warning is a delight

The gold is angelus metallic leather paint but I was playing around with scrap pieces and I think a diluted acrylic would work just fine...

the work is mysterious and important @junijwi.crowcouncil.art · 30/08/2026

I experimented a lot with the dying process this time. The dye is alcohol based, so if you dampen the leather before or after, it creates some fun effects when you gently apply diluted dye! isopropyl alcohol dripped on also causes watery droplet effects.

Been going crazy with RPs But Arnie made friends with Anya in Project Iapetus! And then killed her thinking she was a monster when reality unraveled. [CW: Illustrated blood + hand injury ] [ #art #oc #PI2 ]

an illustration of my OC Arnie and my friend Lee's OC, Anya.
Arnie is a very tall muscular man with long black hair and a beard. he's holding a steaming coffee mug and smiling while chatting with Anya in a break room.
Anya is a petite blind woman with pale hair, and a smart outfit. She is holding her cane and a cup of coffee smiling as she chats with Arnie.

The text above and below the image were taken from Lee's roleplay where she wrote about Anya feeling relaxed around Arnie.

"It feels easy to talk to Arnie. How long was it since she felt relief?"

As reality unravels and our characters are forced to survive things don't always make sense. Arnie was trapped in a labyrinth of books and when he thought he was attacking a phantasm with a piece of its domain he ended up killing Anya.

The scene depicts Arnie, a large powerful man with long black hair and a beard, with a wild expression on his face. His hair flows behind him and no irises or pupils appear in his eyes. He drives a sharpened piece of wood through the phantasm's hands and into its chest, but the "monster" is just Anya. The same petite woman with pale hair he had befriended earlier.

The top left corner shows Anya's open eye staring in horror at the attack. There is blood splattered across her skin, and her iris a multitude of colors like TV static.

The bottom right shows Arnie's eye a feeling of regret, pain, and loss upon the realization he's hurt someone he wanted to protect. Tears run down his cheek and his iris is a very pale green.

The text surrounding the image is a quote Anya had told him. "You have a kind voice. I'll know to look for it."
