Listening to communities instead of data is critical to reaching these communities and just relying on data alone is not enough. That's the takeaway of this next @thelatinovote.bsky.social summit session.

They say age is just a number but it's still a number. So today I turned 57. I was born the same year the Mets won the World Series and humans landed on the moon.

What Cora's IG posted last night, to the tune of Rubén Blades, "Amor y control." Cuánto control y cuánto amor Tiene que haber en una casa Mucho control y mucho amor Para enfrentar a la desgracia

I wonder how Trump/Puerto Rico statehood supporters are feeling today. Should we ask the governor of Puerto Rico, who is a Trump supporter and statehood proponent?

The U.S.-born news consumption by Latinos is overwhelmingly in English, and I think that nonprofit funders have overlooked that fact for years. The more we can look at Latinos across all these sectors, the better we will serve our community as journalists.

Hearing about Dr. Acuña's death last week and seeing all the tributes. In 2021, he wrote two deeply personal essays for LatinoRebels.com. Dr. Acuña shared a lot of life lessons here.

Just thinking about earlier this March at #WBC in Puerto Rico. @thelatinonewsletter.org team spent a great weekend recording for our upcoming AMERICAN COLONY podcast (July 4 premiere). Thank you to Mike Collazo (Philly Boricua!) for making it happen for us to be there.

As an editor who edits a lot of stories, I can't stand when I publish a typo but it does give me some comfort that way larger newsroom also make typo mistakes. Editors are human. And don't tell me to just use Grammarly (their new AI beta writing prompts are annoying). 😅
