I’ve been thinking for a while now how I wish I could get myself a “non photo blue pen” of some kind, because as much as I like the pencils, I need them to be softer, which means they lose their tips too easily. But I didn’t think a pen like that existed. Then yesterday I found this one and?! 😱

Photo of my hand holding a pilot gel pen called “pop’lol” .7 tip in the color Pastel Blue, which looks a lot like the non-photo-blue color artists use in comics.

A quick doodle of a female bust I did with the blue as an under drawing and then went over in black on top to see if the original pen got in the way of inkling with black ink above it. But it worked pretty well!!

Robin Lee desperately wishes to please her mother, and as a rising star violinist, she is doing just that! Except… it doesn’t feel that way. When she meets an orphan boy searching for a mysterious constellation, she starts to realize that her happiness is worth it too. ✨🎻✨ #DVpit #GN #MG #HF #DVart

Panel 1: a sausage dog next to their human, barking but no sound is made.

Panel 2: closeup of the dog to show that he is doing the barking action but still no sound.

Panel 3: Robin, the protagonist, looking to the left side wondering what’s going on.

Panel 4: Robin looking to the right, now a little more panicked.

Panel 5: a mama bird landing on her nest as three little chicks are asking for food but still no sound.

Panel 6: a close up of the chicks but not a peep coming from them.

Panel 7-8: Robin getting close to crying as she can’t understand why she’s no longer hearing any sounds around her.

Panel: last panel descending into darkness as her anxiety rises. UNKNOWN VOICE: Estrelinhas.

A comic book page in black and white.

Panel 1: Robin’s startled eyes as the voice next to her startles her out of her panic. KADEN: Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you!

Panel 2: there’s a boy next to her at the park, he is dressed very messy and his clothes are all tattered and in a bad state while she looks super pristine and delicate. But he has a warm smile as he speaks to her calmly. KADEN: I just saw you watching my friends doing cartwheels and… once I worked with some sailors, they were from Portugal I think. They called cartwheeling “estrelinhas”.

Panel 3: a close up of Kaden as he’s looking at Robin and his eyes have stars and he has a light blush seeing and speaking to her in his calm way. KADEN: it means, little stars.

Panel 4: Robin also has stars in her eyes as she’s looking at him, very shyly blushing a little

Despite not being a published author, I too just got hit with the newest scam email being sent around… somehow 😑

Screen cap of a scam email I just received:

Reese's Book Club Would Love to Consider Wildest Dreams for an Upcoming Selection

Gretchen Schreiber

Hi Juliana,
I'm Gretchen, the manager handling monthly selections for Reese's Book Club.

I came across Wildest Dreams and was drawn to the way the collection centers women's desire as something that can be expressed openly, honestly, and without shame. The decision to explore that experience through poetry gives the book an intimate quality, allowing readers to encounter desire not simply as a romantic theme, but as part of identity, vulnerability, confidence, and self-expression.

I wanted to ask a few quick questions as we consider Wildest Dreams:
• Is the book currently available in Kindle and paperback formats?
• Does it currently have a handful of reader reviews on Amazon or elsewhere?
• Has Wildest Dreams recently been selected or featured by another major book club, literary organization, or national reading program?
Reviews are helpful, but they are not the main criterion. Our curators look more broadly at the work itself, its themes, readership, emotional resonance, and potential for meaningful reader engagement.
I'd also be happy to share a one-page overview outlining the readership reach, engagement, visibility, and sales lift authors typically see from being featured.
If the timing is right, I'd love to learn a little more about Wildest Dreams and see whether it could be a meaningful fit for our readers.
No rush and no pressure at all. I simply wanted to reach out because the collection's focus on women's desire, vulnerability, confidence, and emotional honesty offers a distinctive perspective that may resonate with readers looking for poetry that speaks openly about intimate experiences.

This is the one I used to use for copics when I colored traditionally with them. It’s made for inking specifically so I believe it would hold up (super similar feel to Deleter). I’ll be testing it out tonight since I still have a ton of it. But no idea on current day prices :/

I’ve actually been doing a ton of tests lately as I’m back to navigating nibs again. Deleter is so good, but I noticed IC paper is cheaper, and according to some professional videos, it’s what most mangaka use. (cheaper because Deleter is more well known brand wise, so might be worth trying!)

Didn’t plan on a sequence at all when I started. But I drew the middle one and then the third one and then thought “what if she was having a bad day before?” And that’s how it sort of went, haha. So good to have my pen back 🌸🍀🐾 [ ✦ #Art | #Ink | #Sketchbook | #ArtSky ✦ ]

Ballpoint pen sketch on white paper of a young woman having a bad day. She’s forcing her breath out in a hmph! As she looks a little down.

Full body drawing of the same woman as she’s walking with groceries in cold weather, and there’s a distressed cat trying to get her attention by pawing at the bag from behind her. Meow!

Chibi like drawing of the young woman crouching down with a happy expression as two kittens and mom cat surround her. The mom from behind purring happily as she rubs against the woman.

One kitten climbing her back (yes it’s a horrible drawing and I don’t care, it’s ballpoint, give me a break 😂) and one kitten’s butt high in the air as it’s going through the contents inside the bag.

This is the one I have. I originally wanted the special one but since this one also says it’s for manga, I let it go and just went for it. Still see most manga artists using the pilot one, just wish I could find the water proof version instead. I’m too much of a klutz and it makes me nervous w/out

I was hoping against all hope that the new pen would have the same inside ink… cartridges(?) as my old one? But of course it doesn’t. Which means I now have a bunch of those that I can’t use in any other pen and I am… so sad. 😭

#MakeaTerribleComicDay2026 I had a different idea a few days ago, but I forgot what it was. So today at lunch this hit me, and well, there we go. No ants were harmed in the making of this comic. [ ✦ #Art | #BRart | #ArtSky ✦ ]

Make a terrible terrible comic day — 2026

PANEL ONE: three ants depicted, one as a guide with a red flag in front of the others.

— GUIDE: And if you look to your right, you’ll see the artist’s week old unwashed dishes.
— ANT ONE: Oh my!
— ANT TWO: Marvelous!

PANEL TWO: Birds Eye view of various ants climbing down a wall with the guide up ahead.

— GUIDE: And as we move on to the living room, we ponder the wall color change from vivid green to a dark, brooding blue…

PANEL THREE: Close up of several ants as one ant asks the guide a question.

— ANT: Excuse-me, will we get to meet the artist?
— GUIDE: Unfortunately no. But we might be lucky to catch a quick glimpse!

PANEL FOUR: Two ants on the side as one is taking photographs and the other is calling their attention.

— ANT ONE: Clint 17! LOOK!
— ANT TWO: Not now! Can’t you see I’m b—

PANEL FIVE: Over the shoulder shot of the two ants looking at something big coming their way.

— ANT ONE: What is it?

PANEL SIX: Shot of a human woman looking tired standing in front of her wall as she’s squishing an ant.

— SFX: squish

LONE PANEL: A news cycle story on what happened, depicting CN-ANT channel, live at 7:21 PM Brasília time. And one lone Ant reporter on the scene of the massacre.

— REPORTER ANT: We come to you live with this sad update as hundreds of ants were tragically killed in a tour of a human artist’s apartment.

Reinforcing once again, to never meet your heroes…

Crystal was the biggest anime disappointment I can think of? I know that there’s been bad adaptations before, but Crystal wasn’t even that. It’s just the fact they cut so many corners with the animation that it looked unhinged. They fixed it after an outcry from fans but honestly, it was too late.

Been trying my best to grow as a person, especially taking into account everything happening in the world. So here are some other titles I finished recently and very much recommend.

The cover of “Careless People — A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism” A MEMOIR by Sarah Wynn-Williams

The cover is white and has a blue square below the large title, that looks like a pool with a shark fin showing, circling…

The cover of “Doppelgänger — a trip into the mirror world” by Naomi Klein.

The cover is of the authors face, with very heavy chroma aberration done atop to make it look like a tv signal gone wrong.

Cover of “Enshittification — Why Everything
Suddenly Got Worse and What to Do About It” by Cory Doctorow

The cover is black and features the shot emoji with characters as if it were swearing angrily “&$!#%”
