There are days when I feel like I'm not really a writer. Then I look through the used notebook pile.

The bottom shelf of an IKEA bookcase. There are two stacks of books. On one side there's a bound set of a SANS 'Hacker techniques' course, a Bernd & Hilla Becher book, and Jeff Vandermeer's Wonderbook.

On the other are notebooks. Lots of notebooks. On further inspection you might find that the majority of them are filled with stories and notes for same.

Just read the alt text. I put my heart into it. (precis: I'm going back tomorrow with cash for the red cups and the Anthora cup)

The contents of the window display from the surplus catering equipment shop down the road. There are stacks of plates front and centre, and the thing we care about most is the stack of oversize red cups & saucers with almost Clarice Cliff angular handles.

There's also an Anthora cup in the background, which for suburban Bristol is a bit of a find. I hope the dude who runs it opens tomorrow, because I will be there like Fry, waving cash.

Realised I'd explained v6 DNS automation pipelines too much, so made a GF chocolate cake to de-stress.

A gluten free chocolate cake. It's had one slice cut out to show the icing and that it's not sludge or poison in the middle. The slice sits on a Poole black pebble side plate, while the cake is on a Pyrex Chelsea pattern dinner plate.

The notes from my past selves under my monitor.

The post-its attached under my monitor. They read 'Trans liberation now' (that's really a sticker), 'Cash from chaos' (advice from a former braincare specialist), a drawing of a cheerful and square-faced robot of the wind-up variety, 'the Japanese clocks in Snowshill Manor provide a useful time-capacitor' (notes for an as yet unfinished novel), and 'save yourself for art' (the requirement for such advice is the reason for the unwritten nature of the previously referenced novel)

Tired and freaked out, so baking. It's gluten free, the raspberry jam is home made, and the pyrex Chelsea pattern plate belonged to my parents. Although I think I beat the mixture too much. I need a cake safeword. (I will make a disturbing cottagecore hacker g/f)
