Today I am starting to create a new work. I have done color studies with pigment sticks, sketched out ideas on tracing paper and am laying down a solid color on my panels. It's still not a solid start yet, but as I work, my creative brain will figure things out. That's how I work.How about you?

"September 11th," 30" x 20," oil, 2001 On September 11, 2001, I watched hijacked airplanes fly into the World Trade Center in New York . I heard ambulances rush by my neighborhood to tend to the injured at the Pentagon in Washington DC. I started this painting that same day.

"Suffragist and Zombies," 60" x 60", encaustic, paper and crystals on birchwood panels This piece was inspired by the "Night of Terror" in 1917. Suffragists were arrested in front of the White House and then incarcerated and brutalized at the Occoquan Prison.
