I'm hearing reports from my chat that Twitch is actually playing ads on my channel again??? Does ASMR/Sexual Themes label have ads again?

My face is so swollen it's unreal 😭 Had a major facial surgery on Monday, for those who didn't know. Nothing serious, but I'll be out of commission for a little bit longer! 💙

I really love streaming on twitch, but I wish there were another platform that were safe for earlicking ASMR, with actual discoverability. I keep seeing peers get punished on YouTube for seemingly no reason, and it makes me anxious.

When corpos graduate, they usually go back to being indies, and it's usually because awful things are happening to them corpo-side. I'm not here to scold you, but some of this community is really fucking exhausting sometimes and this is part of the reason why.

030

Julia Drowsy ⸸ Demon of Sloth V-tuber 🔞 @juliadrowsy.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

I get that being indie is a joy despite the struggle, but I've seen some indies being really fucking nasty about dancing on the corpos' graves with the recent graduations. Some of you are so VT drama-poisoned that you're way too comfortable shitting on others in this medium.

Casual PSA: Every interaction you have with a streamer shouldn't default to playful bullying 24/7. Because after a while it doesn't seem like playful banter anymore. Take a break from the "booli the streamer" once in a while and just vibe and chat with them.

I turned mine off too, a couple weeks ago, and just let prerolls run. I had initially been worried about it affecting my viewership, but I'm holding consistent numbers and I'm not convinced most people are getting any prerolls since Twitch apparently isn't running ads anyway.

Currently 73 followers away from 1k! Trying to see if I can hit it this week. The stakes are intense: if I manage it, then I've hit 1k! If I don't, then I haven't! Compelling drama, right~? Come and see me if you like #ASMR and #earlicking #vtubers!

The Sinterns know, I've spoken at length about this exact thing on stream before. I firmly believe we're doing the same kind of theater that wrestlers are, and viewing our performance as a medium within that greater family stands only to benefit us as performers and the fans.

I did a small test on stream yesterday. (🧵Thread!) Freeform Tags like Iran, Syria, etc, did not result in fewer people seeing ads. However, using the Content Classification Label for Sexual Themes OR Politics/Sensitive Issues resulted in NO ONE seeing any ads. Mature Games did not impact ads.

Hi everyone. The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars. We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website. We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off. I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

I've been very public about the fact that I make basically no money on ads, despite Twitch forcing me to run them, because of my Sexual Themes label. It honestly pisses me off, because I run my 15 minutes of ads on all of my 4 hour long streams, and I make peanuts on it.
