Walk your friends home. Offer them carpools/rides. Make sure their bike has been tuned up. Offer to take walks/hike/sit at the park or beach together. Make sure they don't just figuratively know they're not alone. Actually make sure they're not alone.

I'm so burnt out. I can't hardly sleep,I'm anxious all the time, my depression is the worst it's ever been (Im on meds for both) I am barely scraping by with two jobs I just want to take a nap for a year. My transition is stalling and it's so hard to move forward in anything.I'm so tired of it all.

Hiya! I made another #starwars model! This time it's Luke's Landspeeder, which is actually a Hot Wheels car painted! Everything is carved and made by yours truly ✨🌙 #miniature #modelmaking #art

A diorama of Luke Skywalkers land speeder in miniature. Painted in shades of orange and grey, resting on a yellowy sandy flat area. There are two small round machines with a wire sticking out, set on the landscape. To the one side is a rising part of a rocky outcrop. The model is sitting on a sandy surface with grassy vegetation popping up.

A close up and another angle of the diorama.

The last side of the model, showing a small cave in the rocky outcropping.

Thank you for loving libraries, for supporting libraries, for being library people, Audre Lorde & Toni Morrison 💜 Happy Birthday! This will always be your day ✨ 📖

Black and white images of Audra Lorde and Toni Morrison. Text reads: Happy birthday to literary giants, library legends...
Audre Lorde & Toni Morrison

Image of Toni Morrison seemingly pondering or speaking, wearing a tie. Text reads: My second job as a teenager was shelving books at the only library in Lorain, Ohio. Every shift started with a tall stack of returned books-fiction, history, drama, poetry, everything. It didn't pay much, but it was magical. Then I got fired.
The trouble was that instead of replacing the books on the shelves, I kept reading them. A title would catch my eye, I'd crack the book open for just a quick look, and pretty soon I'd forget the stack of returns. I didn't get far in my career as a librarian, but that experience opened my eyes and shaped my future.
That's what libraries do.
TONI MORRISON
LETTER TO QUEENS PUBLIC LIBRARY
2018

Black and white powerful images (x2) of Audre Lorde standing with her hands in her pockets. Text reads: "I was writing seriously by the time I was in high school, and I knew it was something I would always want to do. But how was I to earn a living? I didn't especially want to teach. I did want to give other people that kind of joy that I found from books, and libraries were the places I knew and felt good in, so it was natural enough that I should become a librarian."
