I think today I set the new record for the longest time span between two consecutive papers at #KDD: 31 years between KDD-0 (an AAAI workshop in Seattle) and KDD-31 (thousands participants in Toronto). Both papers about rule learning, attendance was higher in 1994 (whatever that means...) 🤔

Just declined, I think for the first time ever, a reviewing invitation to a major ML conference. IMHO the expected amount of interaction in OpenReview (replying as reviewer to author rebuttals and vice versa) is getting way out of hand, reviewing becomes negotiation. Feels surprisingly relaxing. 😎

I fully agree. I was recently dissed by authors (and a bit by the SPC) because I said the paper is clear enough to me, and I don't have any questions to the authors. And, as an author, it is considered negative if I don't submit a rebuttal. This is getting out of hand, I try to avoid openreview now.
