My ink drawing of instructions for how to bake a leaf in a bird. Step 1 is find a leaf. Step 2 is find a hoatzin. In Step 3, the hoatzin eats the leaf. In Step 4, the leaves stay in the digestive system of the hoatzin for 1–2 days for their special foregut fermentation using bacteria. There's a small close-up of the bacteria in the hoatzin gut.
